My First date

Dear Diary, 3/7/2005

I have so much to tell you! It’s been nearly a week since I’ve wrote. Sorry, it’s been crazy. We’ve started studying for end of year tests which means more homework. And you know, that’s always super fun. Yuck. Anyways.

I finally had my first date! Today is Thursday and Samuel totally surprised me! He talked to my Dad, I guess at church last night, and asked him if he could pick me up today cause he had the day off. I called him at lunch and he told me to look for his truck in the parking lot after school. Luckily we didn’t do much in gym class today, so I used the spare time to fix my hair and makeup. I’m glad I decided to dress kind of nice this morning. I would’ve been mortified if I had picked out my sweats and a messy bun.

We went to a local sub shop and ate. He held my hand in the truck like usual, but not when we got out. He never wants to in front of people. He’s really shy. With all my insecurity, I can’t help but wonder if he’s embarrassed of me though. So, we are, then went to my house. Dad was working in the garage, mom stayed in the kitchen on the phone, Misty was at our Grandma’s house, so Samuel and I watched a movie on the couch together. Mom came in to check on us periodically. I don’t know what she thought was going to happen. We hadn’t even kissed yet.

Until he left! He always hugs me bye. No big deal. So tonight when he went for a hug, I went for a kiss. Yeah. I’m impatient. It’s in my blood. Anyway, because he was going for a hug, my lips hit his cheek. We laughed. Then he asked me if I was trying to kiss him. I said, “duh!” So he asked if I wanted to try again. So I did. It wasn’t like magical or anything. Just a tiny pop kiss. But it was sweet. No fireworks, but sweet.

I’m kind of excited. Next week, our pastor is preaching a revival and we are supposed to be going every night. Samuel is too! Which means I’ll get to see him every night and I can’t wait!
