Alex kept assuring me that everything would be alright. But I had seen scenes like this in many movies to know that I should be scared. I didn’t need to be an executive to know that being summoned by the board was a serious matter.
And they were holding an election of ‘no confidence’ against Alex.
The sun barely pierced the city skyline before I woke up. My heart was racing. I didn’t even care if I lost the job. I was worried that I had dragged Alex Kane with me. I barely concentrated when Old man Kane gave his usual ‘tea’ over tea. All I could think of was how to exonerate Alex. I knew the meeting had to do with the Valis contract. Even Alex was yet to say anything about it to the company but I was sure they had heard about how I flopped it.
