Charles’ POV I sat behind my desk, the city’s hum seeping through the glass walls, while Evelyn stood at the conference table, ready to unveil her prototype. She had been working on it for days and she had promised she could create something far exceeding that the one Rosa had made. It was the hour of truth. Patra stood somewhere close to the entrance, excited to see what she was made up of too. Evelyn launched her demo and I watched carefully, nodding as she described the architecture of the software. The design was good. But it wasn’t as good as Rosa’s and I didn’t know if it could stand a chance against Rosa’s work if we were to bid for a contract from the same client. But it was better than what Patra had done. And I could make do with her designs until I got Rosa back to me.
