Rosa’s POV
My knees buckled.
“Say the truth, Rosa. The truth shall set you free. If you lie, I’ll kill you right here.”
The sight of the gun made my vision blur. I shook uncontrollably and tears streamed down my face.
“He…he…” I pointed weakly at the chair. “I was right beside him. I thought he was sleeping as he always does.”
“Wrong answer."
The gun went off.
The sound shattered the room. I screamed, my hands flying to my ears as the bullet tore into the ceiling. My heart felt like it would rip out of my chest.
I had thought he shot me.
But then, he aimed the gun at me, face solid with resentment.
“The next bullet goes into your chest,” he said coldly. “Think carefully before you answer. Why did you kill him?”
