In a child's eyes- poem

289 Words
In a child’s eyes There’s so much innocence and love in a child’s eyes. They look up to you for guidance and strength when they’ve fallen. They trust with all their heart. When you have a child’s love it’s the greatest gift of all. They love unconditionally. Yet so many people don’t treat them like the delicate gifts they are. To see tears in a child’s eyes is a heartbreaking sight to see, but so often those tears are ignored. So often the signs of abuse are ignored until it’s too late. So many children have died because people have ignored the pain in a child’s eyes. How long can we continue to be deaf and blind to this? So many kids go through so much pain, yet no one does anything about it. I wish I could take them all in my arms and endure all the pain for them. It’s so sad, but yet every day we say goodbye to millions of children that have been forgotten. Maybe you’ll remember these words the next time you see pain and suffering in a child’s eyes. Together we can change it all. We can together turn these tears into never ending smiles. We overcame it. We were once those forgotten children. But we made it through now one by one we can come together to conquer these daemons. We can show them they’re not forgotten. Now’s the time to change it so the next time we look in a child’s eyes we see happiness instead of tragedy.
