Preparing to leave the cottage, Pari notices that she and Abby are empty-handed. “Should we be bringing a hostess gift?”
“Not at all,” Abby replies. “Even if we insisted, Camila would not accept it. She wants to give, not receive. You will see. She will send us both home with a nice gift. Please graciously accept it. Her gifts are almost always special skin care or bathing products from one of her lines. Each is wrapped and private, so no one is ever embarrassed, and she enjoys giving items that will be helpful.”
“That is very nice,” Pari responds.
“I think it is brilliant,” Abby says. “Instead of friends and family having to go to her for potentially awkward consultations and advice, she simply, with grace and privacy, chooses items that may improve people’s lives.
