THE TIME STAMP ON MIGUEL’S computer screen indicates eight o’clock Friday morning. The surveillance is black-and-white, but crisp. The wide angle view looks down at the back of the gargoyle sculpture in the bottom center foreground. Above it is a small front yard and driveway, a portion of the curving Apapane Lane, and, above it, much of the oval park. The far left portion of the screen reaches Campbell’s cottage, but only to his yard and front steps. The furthest right-side of the screen similarly captures Kawaii’s cottage, but not all the way to his porch.
