Chapter 9: Two Pink Lines

1076 Words
My hand kept shaking as I held the pregnancy test. Two pink lines stared back at me, clear and undeniable. My back pressed against the bathroom door as I tried to breathe. Outside, I could hear heavy footsteps pacing around restlessly and low voices, filled with tension thick enough to cut. I closed my eyes for one second, before opening the door. Both twins stopped moving the moment I stepped out. Dominic stood on the left, his arms crossed, and jaw tight. Dante leaned against the wall on the right, his eyes sharp and restless. They looked at the test in my hand, then at my face. “It’s positive,” I whispered. For a moment, the room went completely silent. Then both of them dropped to their knees at the same time. Dominic reached for me first, his big hands holding my waist gently. “Lila…” His voice cracked. “Stay please. We’ll take good care of you and the baby.” Dante grabbed my hand, pressing it to his chest. His heart was racing under my palm. “Don’t run. Don’t even think about it. That baby is ours. And you’re ours. We’ll burn the whole city down before we let anyone touch you.” I stared down at them two of the most feared men in the East Coast, ruthless mafia bosses, on their knees begging me to stay. "I blinked, making sure I wasn't dreaming". For the first time since this nightmare began, something shifted inside me. Power. Real power. My voice came out steadier than I intended. “Tell me the whole truth about that first night. And the reason why my sister drugged me and sent me to you.” Dominic’s jaw flexed. He stood up slowly, pulling me with him until I was sitting on the edge of the bed. Dante stayed close, his hand never leaving mine. “Your sister didn’t drug you just to steal your fiancé from you,” Dominic said quietly. “She made a deal with one of our biggest rivals. She gave them information about our routes in exchange for help in destroying you. She wanted you gone quickly so she could take everything that was yours.” Dante’s thumb brushed over my knuckles. “She thought if you were ruined, your ex-fiance Derek would come crawling back to her.” I felt sick. My own sister had sold me out to our enemies. “And you both knew?” “We suspected,” Dominic admitted. “But we didn’t know how deep it was not until recently.” I sighed, staring at both of them. “Now show me I’m really yours.” They didn’t need to be told twice. Dominic kissed me first, deep and possessive, while Dante pulled my robe open from behind. Their hands moved together but each touch felt different. Dominic gripped my hips hard. Dante’s touch was teasing, his fingers creased all over my skin, making me shiver. I could already tell them apart by how they touched me. They laid me on the bed. Dominic thrusting into me first, rough and deep. Dante kissed my neck and whispered filthy words in my ear until I was moaning between them. Then they switched. Dante was smoother, rolling his hips in a way that made my toes curl, while Dominic watched with dark, hungry eyes. I came hard, crying out as pleasure ripped through me. They followed suit one after the other, spilling their seeds inside me, while groaning out that I was theirs. I lay between them afterward, breathing hard, feeling the weight of everything that had just happened, crashing down on me. For the first time, I didn’t feel like a prisoner. Then the bedroom door swung open. Derek Valentino, my ex-fiancé, stood in the doorway with a gun pointed straight to my forehead. His eyes were wild looking , his clothes rumpled, and his face twisted with so much rage. Blood dripped from a cut on his forehead he had clearly fought his way past the guards. “If I can’t have you,” Derek snarled, his finger tight on the trigger, “no one will. Especially not these bastards beside you.” The twins moved at the same time. Dominic shoved me behind him. "f*****g son of a bitch." Dominic cursed his jaw clenched. Derek please you don't have to do this, everything is now in the past. Please put down the gun, let's talk. I said my voice dropping into a desperate plea. He burst out into laughter like a lunatic. "There's absolutely nothing to talk about here Lila, when you went about spreading your legs open like a worthless cheap w***e, I bet you never believed a day would come when you'd have to pay with your blood and that of your lap dogs for betraying me". Enough, Dominic barked, you heard her bastard put the damn gun down now or... Or what Derek snapped, cutting him off before he could finish. I'm done with all this bickering, it's time I sent all of you to hell starting from you Lila. He said, his finger wrapped firmly around the trigger. Dante raised his gun too at Derek. A single shot rang out, I closed my eyes tight, slowly opening them when I realized I hadn't died yet. Derek’s body jerked backward. Blood sprayed across the wall. He looked shocked for a split second, then crumpled to the floor. The room fell into a deafening silence. Dominic pulled me into a tight hug, breathing hard. Dante slowly lowered his gun, his eyes moving from Derek’s body to me. There was no regret in his gaze, only a dark satisfaction. I stared at the man I used to plan a future with, now lying dead on the floor because of me. Dante stepped closer, his voice low and rough. “He pointed a gun at you. No one gets to do that and lives to tell the story.” Dominic untangled himself from the hug giving me space to breathe, but his hand gently rested on my stomach. His voice was quiet but deadly. “Now they all know what happens when they come for what’s ours.” I stood between them, my heart racing, staring at the blood on the floor. This was the world I was now par t of. And I was no longer sure I wanted to escape from it.
