"You touched her without me last night," Dominic growled, shoving Dante against the wall. Dante smirked, not even trying to push back. "She asked for me. jealous brother?". I quickly stood up between them in the living room, my heart pounding so hard it hurt. The air between us felt thick. They had been circling each other all morning making small comments, that turned into bigger jabs, and now it has finally boiled into a full confrontation. "Stop it, both of you. Right now "I yelled, stepping closer, my voice coming out sharper than I intended. Dominic's eyes stayed locked on his brother, his clenching. "He thinks he can have you whenever he wants, as though the contract doesn't matter." Dante chuckled low and dangerous. "The contract was your idea,”Dominic remember. I'm just making sure she knows she has a choice". I pushed my way between them, my hands both on their chests. "I said stop. You're not some animals fighting over a piece of meat. I'm standing right here. Talk to me instead, and stop bickering on each other. They both looked at me. The anger on their faces didn't disappear, not even for a bit. Demonic held my waist, Dante's finger brushed my arm. But the tension was still thick, ready to explode again. "You want us to talk?" Dominic said, his voice low. "Fine. I don't like sharing you. I never did. Every time he touches you,It feels like he's taking something that's mine". Dante's eyes blazed red with anger. "And I don't like how you act like she belongs only to you. We both had her that first night. We equally both wanted this baby. So stop acting like you're the only one who gets to decide everything". I sighed, staring carefully at each of their faces. Dominic stood like the world had to obey him. Dante looked like he was ready to burn it down if he didn't get what he wanted. “I’m not a thing you can divide,” I said quietly. “I’m a person. And honestly I’m scared because every day I wake up wondering if today is the day one of you gets tired of sharing and tries to push the other out. Or worse of all… push me out.” The words hung between us. Neither of them spoke for a long moment. Dominic’s hand tightened on my waist. “I’m not pushing you out. I can’t, you know that Lila". Dante stepped closer, his chest brushing my shoulder. “Neither can I. You think this is easy for us? Watching you smile at him more than me? Feeling like I have to fight my own brother in order to have a time with you? It’s driving me crazy, Lila. But I’m still here. Because walking away isn’t an option.” I felt tears stink in the corners of my eyes. “Then stop fighting like this then. Learn to set real boundaries. Talk to each other instead of growling and shoving each other on the wall. I’m carrying your baby. Our baby. I need to be sure this can work without one of you completely losing it.” Dominic exhaled slowly. He looked at Dante. Alright then we would get equal nights, no more switching without telling the other. And we should talk every morning.” Dante nodded, his eyes still on me. “And she gets to choose when she wants both of us. Without forcing it.” I let out a shaky breath. “That’s a good start.” The tension between them didn’t vanish, but it eased up a little . Dominic pulled me into a tight hug. Dante hugged me from behind. Their arms wrapped around me, holding me between them. For the first time in days, it didn’t feel like a fight. It felt like they were trying to make us work. But I could still feel tiny strings of jealousy in their countenance. The way Dominic’s grip was becoming a little tighter. The way Dante kissed my neck like he was reminding me he was here too. I closed my eyes and whispered, “If you keep fighting over me like this… I will choose neither of you.” The room went dead silent. Dominic’s arms stiffened around me. Dante pulled back just enough to look at my face. Both of them stared at me like I had slapped them hard on the face . “You don’t mean that. Do you." Dominic said, his voice low and dangerous. My gaze met his eyes. Obviously yes, do I look like I'm joking. I’m not going to spend the rest of my life watching you two tear each other apart all because of me. If you can’t learn to share without destroying everything, then I’m gonna raise this baby alone.” Dante’s hand tightened on my hip. “Lila…” I stepped back away from both of them, my heart racing. “Think about it. Really think about it. Because I’m done being a prize you both always get to fight over.” I turned and walked toward the bedroom, leaving them standing there in silence. For the first time, I felt like I had drawn a real line between us . And I was terrified of w hat would happen when they decided how to cross it.
