This was my first time I was away from home. I just recently graduated from high school and got a scholarship to attend Stateside University. I was excited to be on my own but the school had a strict policy about first year students living on campus. I didn't mind though because I would be able to get to know new people. I moved into the dorm and meet my roommate. She was a very sweet girl who was on her second year of college and she knew everyone that was there.
I introduced myself when she walked. "Hi, Im Valerie. Your new roommate." " Hi, Im Jessica. Nice to meet you." She reminded me of my best friend from high school. Quite but cool as a fan. I was happy to be rooming with her because I needed someone that reminded me of home. It was long before I adjusted to being away from home and my dog. As time went by Jessica introduced me to one of her friends that attend the same chemistry class as I do.
"Hey, this is Valerie." Jessica told her. "Don't I already know you" she asked. I replied "Probably, we are in the same chemistry class." Jessica looked shocked and surprised. "Well anyways my name is Kiesha, nice to finally meet you." "Yes, it is. Well what are we going to do tonight?"
I was hoping that they would say, just stay in and study but it wasn't like that. They were all ready to go out and have some fun at this party that everyone was talking about. It was a way for the freshmen to see all the groups that attend the school and some alumni members as well. It was the party of all parties. I mean it was where if you wanted to apart of a Frat and Sorority then that is the place you needed to be.
When we arrived there, it was already jumping. The music was playing so loud, you literally had to yell just to be heard. Me, Jessica, and Kiesha had walked in and got us some drinks. To be honest this is where I actually had my first drink. I never drank alcohol before so I was new at this and it turned out not be so bad. After we got our drinks we started enjoying the party. We danced, laughed and enjoyed the step show. After about 2 hours of being after the party, I noticed that a girl was steering at me.
I had to admit she was cute. She had brown hair, brown eyes, a tattoo on her chest, and she was wearing denim shorts, and a white low cut shirt. I didn't know her or see her in any of classes. As a matter of fact I don't even think I seen her around campus before. She noticed that I had seen her looking at me and she smiled as I was gazing at her. That was when I noticed that she was walking towards me.
She walked up to me and took me by the hand and lead me out the door that way we could talk without yelling. As soon as we got outside she introduced herself. "Hi, I am Nicole. What is your name?" "Hi, Im Valerie. Nice to meet you." It seemed kind of weird but it was kind of nice. This ws the first person I meet that made me shy like I was in school.
We started talking and she told that she thought I was kinda cute. That made feel like she was hitting on me but I didn't want to think that. I asked her "Do you attend school here?" She replied, "Yes, I do." "Why haven't I seen you around campus before?" I asked her with a smile. "Well, you see, I am majoring in business so I don't have to be to my classes until late in the afternoon so I just stay in the sorority house until I have class." She replied. I understood what she was talking about because I don't even leave the dorm until I have class as well.
We continued our conversation and then she asked me something strange. "Have you ever been with another girl?" I just looked at her as I didn't know how to answer that question. I had to be honest with her though, so I told her the truth and she just smiled. The truth is I never been with a girl but I had thought about so many times. I only been with one other person before coming to this school and that was my high school sweetheart. He was my first and after we graduated we just broke up because I didn't want to have a long distance relationship.
She understood and asked me if I was interested in trying something new, she would be willing to show me how it would feel. She took me by the hand and we walked back to my dorm room. When we got there, we walked in and sat on the bed. I had to admit in the last three months that I been here, I never thought I would be bringing anyone back to my room. As we sat there, we continued talking and then out of nowhere she leaned in and kissed me.
This was my first kiss from someone other than my ex. I was a little surprised but it was nice. Her lips was soft and she made me feel comfortable. After, the kiss, we continued talking and made plans to see each other again. We exchanged phone numbers and one last kiss. We started saying our goodbyes as I walked her to the door and we parted ways until the next time.
