Conference Room Two bore an unmistakeable air of tension. Five of the senior members of MLS publishing house - Manisha, Kishore, Rahat, Milan and Shaina sat at the table and were divided on the suitability of Sanath's synopsis for their publishing house.
Rahat and Shaina were against the idea of having an inmate's fantasy story being a part of their portfolio. Kishore, Milan and Manisha could not see why it was a problem. Manisha itched to have her way by calling for a vote and getting this debate done with. But Rahat and Shaina were tough negotiators and weren't going to succumb so easily to a majority ruling.
"I'm telling you, Manisha," said Shaina. "If we publish this, we'll be going against everything we stand for."
