Sanath had kept his head down for the last few weeks, avoiding any form of human interaction. The lesser exposure he subjected himself to, the lesser chance he would have of doing something bad. He avoided all of Manisha's letters until he decided to spare her the trouble of writing them by sending back a short reply - "I think it's better that we don't talk to each other." The old Sanath would have felt appalled by his own curtness, but the new Sanath was proud of himself for taking a decisive step towards redeeming himself.
But there was a limit to which even the most determined individual could sit around doing nothing, and Sanath was no exception. To pass his time, he observed what his fellow inmates were doing and made mental notes in his imaginar
