The Yankees came back strong to beat Anderson, 6–4, in Game 3, slugging three home runs. But Barnwell looked like his old self again in Game 4, allowing six hits and one run over six innings before the bullpen held on for a 3–2 Braves victory. The World Series was tied 2–2, heading into a pivotal Game 5. With the 2–3–2 format, the final two games were to be played in New York. Ken Allen and Freddy Feld overlooked Atlanta’s packed Truist Park from their broadcast booth.
