Chapter 5: "The Doctor's Secret

Maddy stood her ground, her eyes locked on the doctor's. "What's going on here?" she demanded.

The doctor smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're just in time to witness the next stage of our research," he said.

Maddy's eyes narrowed. "What research?"

The doctor gestured to the patients strapped to the tables. "We're working on a new treatment," he explained. "One that will change the course of human history."

Maddy's heart was racing now. She knew she had to get out of there, and fast.

But as she turned to leave, she felt a hand on her arm. It was Emma, her eyes wide with fear.

"Maddy, don't go," Emma whispered. "You have to see this."

Maddy hesitated, her eyes locked on Emma's. And then she saw it. A patient, strapped to a table, his body convulsing in agony.

But as Maddy watched in horror, the patient's body began to change. His muscles grew stronger, his skin healing at an incredible rate.

Maddy's eyes widened in shock. What was going on here?

The doctor smiled, his eyes glinting with triumph. "You see, Nurse Thompson," he said. "Our treatment is not just a cure. It's a transformation."

Maddy's heart was racing now. She knew she had to get out of there, and fast. But as she turned to leave, she felt a hand on her arm.

It was the doctor, his eyes glinting with malice. "You're not going anywhere, Nurse Thompson," he said. "You're going to be our next test subject."
