As the communication towers went down, the mechas on the plains outside Valenwood fell into disarray. Unable to receive instructions from their Overlord, the machines broke rank and started marching aimlessly across the field and eventually came to a standstill.
“Lucis did it!” Jake shouted jubilantly. “Now is the time to push ahead. Destroy the machines!”
He summoned his armored Abyssal Behemoths to attack the machines while the knights rode into flanking positions. Only the class A Shredders remained, protected by the Droids. The machines were easy targets now without any central command issuing orders to them
There was still no sign of Overlord Zeroth and it seemed like victory was inevitable. And then it happened.
