The little gnome rocked back and forth inside the wooden cage as the troll hopped towards his camp. Zill tried to break the bars but they were made of oak wood. Meanwhile Jake and Emily had exhausted themselves. They had been trying to track Zill’s footprints but it was impossible to make out any signs on the leafy forest floor. After expending their last ounce of energy they finally sat down near the stream. “I think we have been going around in circles. Every path looks the same to me,” said Jake. “There is something wrong with this forest. It’s almost as if it’s enchanted.” Emily darted her eyes towards a few dry twigs lying on the ground. “I think we should build a fire. It will act as a signal and help Zill to find us.” “That’s a great idea. It might just work.” Jake hurried back
