“A bad king wages wars from his bed, a good king fights alongside his men, while a great king fights alone,” his father’s words rang in King Johannus’ ears. The venerable old man had taught him all about statecraft and warfare while King Johannus was still a child. He knew one day his son would have to take over the reins and steer the fate of his great kingdom. Even at 70, King Johannus felt like he could use his father’s advice.
