I didn’t realize I was shaking until I tried to hold my phone still. The screen blurred once, then twice, my grip tightening like that alone could steady everything unraveling inside me. The words from the monitor log were still echoing in my head – manual override authorized, and they wouldn’t stop repeating, like my mind had latched onto them and refused to let go. “They were allowed to.” Allowed.
