So if you want save this link for future updates. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I woke up to the sound of my alarm on my smartphone with a sore pain on my back, and especially on my chin. I was in a position where I fell down on the bed and my chin first landed on the floor. [Picture 1] "Alice! What was that big thud sound I just heard?! Are you alright?!" Mom yelled from downstairs. I slowly lifted myself up, still feeling the sore pain on my chin, "Ye-Yeah Mom, it was just my books that fell down from its shelf!" I lied because I don't want to explain any further to my Mom what really happen. It's kind of embarrassing. "OK! You're alarm has already been ringing non-stop, so you better get up!" Mom said almost like complaining from the sound of my alarm. "OK Mom, I'm already up!" and then I turned off my alarm, "Ouch!" while still feeling the pain in my chin. I went to my full body-size mirror that is standing near to my bed to see how bad my chin looks, "Ugh...it's all red, I hope it'll go away soon. It was because of that stupid dream again" I said complaining. But in speaking of my dream, I dreamt of my past again. My most nightmare of all, it looks like I still haven't overcome that nightmare. "But who cares about that! It's all in the past!" I said while trying to cheer myself up. I walked to my side bed drawer, open it, and pick up the necklace that was inside, still looking enchantingly just like how I first have it, "And besides, it ended on a happy ending" I said happily while remembering the past. After I fell down to a mysterious hole that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, I immediately heard my parents calling my name and because of that I call them back, and that's how they found me. The hole wasn't too deep, so they just pick me up and immediately hugged me while crying. I felt their love at that moment, so I also cried alongside them, feeling all happy and relieved. And because I was 7, I thank the man I just met, concluding that he was the reason how my parents found me. Kids always imagine all sorts of stuff with no reasoning. But I still believe up to this day, his the reason how I was found. I place down the necklace on top of my drawer and picked up a foot-long, black, old feather. I still have this even though it's falling apart. I know it sounds crazy, but I still believe he was an angel, a black-winged angel. They say a black angel is also known as the Grim Reaper, the one who is responsible for guiding the dead to their rightful place - if they deserve to go to heaven or hell. I don't know if that's true or not, but I just knew, at that time, he was my guardian angel. "Alice!! What are you still doing in your room?!! You're going to be late if you're just standing there!!" My Mom who was shouting louder than earlier. She's so exaggerating me being late. It's still too early Mom! "Yeah I know, know!" I answered her nonchalantly while also shouting. But she's right, if I don't do anything I may be late in class. So I put back the feather inside my drawer, walked towards the door where I also hanged my towel and gone to the shower, where it's just next to my bedroom. When I was inside, I immediately removed my t-shirt leaving me half-n***d. I was about to remove my pajamas but my eye caught something on the mirror, something blue, and that was the strange symbol on my right upper arm. It's just some scribbles that are broken lines, I don't know how to explain what it looks like, but if I connect them together, I think there are some curve lines and a spiral? I really don't know. And the strangest thing here is that it's blue. [Picture 2] I don't know why it's there or when it appeared, but when I first time saw this, I was 5 years old and was freaking out. I suddenly cried and my Mom and Dad ran towards me saying what's wrong, so I showed them this strange thing on my arm and they showed me their confused face and said, "What is it? There's nothing there" I was also confused and convince them that there is something on my arm, but they just brush me off and said, "It may be just your imagination, honey". I was not convinced of what they told me, so I immediately gone to my next-door best friend, whose name is Kenji, and shown him this strange thing. And just like my parents, he was also confused and said the same thing. At that moment, I felt like I was betrayed and think that I was lying, but when time pass and showing it to other people many times, it's confirmed that I'm the only one who can see this thing. But why? I searched on the internet when I was older enough to do so by myself, if there is someone who has the same experience as me, but no one has it. I'm afraid of asking this to random people on the internet because they may think that I'm crazy or may troll me on the process. And I don't want to check this to a doctor because of the same reason that they may think I'm crazy. But honestly, it's really not a hassle in my daily life. If I don't think about it, it's like it's not there. The only thing I'm worried about is that it's growing. I remember when I was five there were seven broken lines, but the older I get, the more broken lines appeared. I'm just waiting at this point, like what will happen if it's complete? I still hope it's nothing. But anyway, I think I need to take a shower now, Mom may shout out my name again and saying I'm gonna be late. I finished showering, gone to my room, put some clothes and accessories like my necklace and some earrings, do my daily routine like putting some lotion and stuff, picked up my bag, and left my room when I know I have all the stuff I need in my bag. I walked down the stairs and gone straight to the kitchen where my Mom is preparing breakfast. I sat down to one of the chairs on the dining table, and noticed that someone is not here today, "Where's Albert?" I asked Mom while she's cooking. "He already left because of his morning practice" she answered. "Oh yeah...I forgot that he started to join the basketball team last week" I said while thinking about it, "that shrimp thinks he can play just because he's taller now, he's still a noob to the sport" "You still saying that he's a shrimp even though he outgrew you last year" Mom teasing me while she's putting down the food. "That's puberty! I can't believe he's already 6 feet when he's still 15, but he's still a shrimp in my eyes, OK" I'm still bitter about that. I'm 19 and stuck to this height of 5'2. "Oh don't be bitter about it, boys will be boys" Mom trying to cheer me up and begone eating breakfast. Well yeah...she's right, that's how puberty and gender works. I started eating as well, but while eating I notice that there is a small package box on the kitchen counter, "Mom, what is that?" I asked her while pointing to the box. She looked at the direction where I'm pointing at and answered, "it's a box" sarcastically. "Yes. I know it's a box. I'm asking why is there a box there" I said while holding my anger. Sometimes Mom is so... Ugh! "Oh I'm just joking with you" and then she chuckled, "That's a package from your Dad to you Alice" she stands up, grabs the box and then place it in front of me. "For me? Why?" I can't think of a reason why Dad sent me something. "What, you forgot? You requested this to your Dad, that this should be your birthday present from him because he's the only one who can buy this abroad" When I heard that, I immediately hugged the box and stand up, "Kyaaa! It's finally here!" I can't help it to feel all excited. "Alice, please stop requesting your Dad to buy something where is too far from where he lives, I know he never told you because he's too nice, but I know its difficult for him to find this item, so be more considerate" Mom said, kind of a complain for Dad's sake. "Yeah, I know, that's why I said to him I'll wait for a week after my birthday, if not I'm not going to talk to him for a month" "Alice..." she said with full of authority and with a little bit of threat. "It was a joke, geez. This is going to be my last request for something like this. I just really want it" I said it acting all cute. "OK, fine" she said defeated. "Well...I'm going to open this to my room really quick, OK Mom?" And then I run to my bedroom. I heard her say something but I don't understand her anymore 'cause my focus is in this box. I can't wait to open it! I'm now in my room and I started to open it carefully using my cutter, trying to not damage it. And when I saw it, I picked it up and mesmerize the beauty of this figurine. It's a girl who is sitting down on the floor while hugging her knees and placing her head on it to hide her face, with a mesmerizing pair of black wings that are ready to fly. [Picture 3] When I saw this on the internet, I can't help it to immediately asked my Dad to buy this for my birthday which was one week ago. I just love collecting angel figurines, in fact I have a bunch of it actually, that a whole bookcase filled with just angel figurines. I started collecting them because of that man. As a kid, you can't help to think of any kind of solution to your problem, even in a ridiculous way. And for me at that time, I came up with the solution to collect angel figurines to remember that man's face. But as I grew up, it just became a hobby now. While I was still mesmerizing the figurine, I notice something on the base of it. The text was written all b****y like they purposely make it creepy, but it was small so you can't easily notice it, and it read all capital letters: CURSE. ... I didn't felt anything when I read that, it was more like I don't know how to feel about it. But when I looked at the figurine again, I suddenly felt sad for it. The figurine itself looks sad, but it makes me sad on the thought that this girl here was actually cursed, like she is suffering because of this curse she has. I don't know why I thought about it like that. "Don't worry, it will be alright soon" I said looking at it directly. It's actually funny that I'm trying to cheer up a non-living thing. But I said it as a fact, based on my experience back when I was 7. I felt like I got cursed and suffered because of it, but the moment I felt despair, hope appeared unexpectedly. "So you too can also feel hope eventually" I said it to the figurine again before I placed it on my side drawer. I walked to the door, but before I closed it, I looked at the figurine one last time. I don't know why I looked at it again, it just made me realize something, but I don't know what it is. ... Meh, maybe it's nothing and then I close the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To be continue...
