Chapter 4 - Key

When I woke up, I was in a dark room.

It wasn't completely dark. In fact, I can still see my hands and feet in this room.

"Where am I?" when I said that, noises that seemed to be screaming in pain and explosions started to play. Like I was in the middle of a war.

"Great leader, the enemies started to invade our turf". When I heard the voice of a man, an image of two guys talking started to appear in front of me, "we are now outnumbered because of our soldiers being injured by this war. What will we do, great leader?" and to my surprise, they are not your ordinary soldiers.

They have wings attached to their backs and haloes that are floating above their heads.

Are they really angels? What am I seeing right now?

"We have no choice but to bring the sacred key to earth, and let the enemies be confused as to where the sacred key is," said an old man whose beard and mustache are almost touching the floor, wearing a white robe.

"But great leader, we are not certain that any time soon, our enemies will be sure to find the sacred key" said the armored angel soldier.

"That is why I let Kastor be our guardian of the sacred key."

"Kastor?!" the soldier screamed, "of all the soldiers, why him?!"

The old man let out a sigh, " He is the only one who can not be sensed by the enemy" he said with a calm voice.

"Is it because he is one of them? We can not be sure if he betrayed us in the end and let the enemy have the sacred key."

"Don't worry I won't". Suddenly, a much calmer voice was heard from my back. I turned around and saw him again walking towards them, with his beautiful black wings wearing his long black coat and a black scarf around his neck.

"How can we be sure?" the armed soldier asked.

"I promised to someone that I will never betray all of you and I will keep fighting until the end" he said calmly but with determined eyes.

The soldier saw that he was being determined and sincere, so he didn't say another word. He looked at the old man, "I'll be guarding the gates, so no enemy will be disturbed while he's departing from earth."

"Good idea, now go!" the old man ordered.

When the soldier disappeared from the scene, the old man gave a small pouch to Kastor, " Inside is the sacred key, Kastor. Guard it with your life"

"I will" and he put the small pouch inside of his brown shoulder bag.

"Pick a place where no species can enter, and if the enemy knows this said place jump to another place to let them confuse" and then he pated Kastor's shoulder, "now let's go to the gates before the enemy know what we are planning" and they both disappear to the scene.

And just like a book, I went to an image where all three of them are. The soldier, the old man, and Kastor are now in front of two large golden gates.

"Fortunately, the enemy hasn't reached this place" the soldier said to the old man.

"Good, now let's open the gates to earth"

The soldier saluted and went to a room, and moments later the gates slowly open it selves.

Kastor is ready to go when the gates open, but before he does, the old man stops him.

"I forgot to give you this" and handed to him a small blue crystal stone.

Kastor seemed surprised, "But this is..."

"I know, but I want you to have it, see to it as a protection for the key"

Kastor just nods and puts the crystal stone in his bag. He was about to walk through the gates but noises from the door got louder and louder.

"Great leader, hurry!" the soldier screams at a window above, "the enemies are about to reach the gates!"

"Kastor go!" the old man ordered.

And by that, he did.

The scene changes once again, and I'm now in...outer space!

The fudge! I'm falling!

But I can still breathe and I can't feel the heat from falling to earth.

And that's where I found Kastor, also falling to earth. He's holding the bag tightly around his chest.

But before we both enter the earth's mesosphere, a red devil with wings attacked him by surprise.

"I knew that you angels were planning to guard the key on earth, so I waited here hahaha" he laughed demonically.

"So, you're all alone?" Kastor said with a scratch on his cheeks from the devil's attack.

"Well yeah, but I can't wait to tell this to our leader, I'm sure he will praise me for my discovery" he excitedly said.

"Don't bother", Kastor said and took out his sword.

But wait, where did that sword come from?! He didn't carry a sword around his hips?!

"You will surely perish by my hands" after Kastor said that, he charged at the devil, and now they are both fighting in the air while the devil uses his sharp nails as his weapon.

They are both very skillful at air fighting, but as time goes by, I see that Kastor is much more skillful at fighting. The devil is now struggling.

"I can see why they put you to guard the key". The devil stops while huffing for air, he's now tired from the fight.

Kastor is now ready to finish the job, but before he does, the devil uses his tail to whip the bag's contents. Leaving them to fall to earth.

"If I can't have the key, no one will hahaha- Ugh!!" Kastor stabs the devil to his heart and disappears into ashes.

Now Kastor hurries himself to get the key and the small crystal stone.

He catches the crystal stone, but the key is much further than that, and it falls to earth much quicker as well, like a meteoroid coming down to earth. Kastor can't seem to catch it whatever he does.

And just like that and like turning a page in a book, I come to a scene where I'm in a hospital room.

"Oh our baby is so cute and chubby, yes you are" said a man carrying a baby as he was dancing and twirling. Wait...

"Oh dear, don't make her sick by twirling like that, remember she was just born 2 days ago" a woman happily said while sitting on a hospital bed.

Wait...I seem to know them...Are they my...

"I know" and he sat down beside the bed while carrying the baby, "how are you feeling?" he said with worry in his tone.

"A bit dizzy, but I can be discharged tomorrow, said the doctor to me earlier."

"That's good," he said with full of relief, "So what name we should give her?"

I knew it, they are my parents! In their younger days!

But how can that be? Am I just time traveled when my parents were both young?! And wait! The baby...is that me? But why am I here?

"I'm thinking of a very simple name, and that should be..."

I have so many questions scrabble around my head, but the time I was thinking of answers to all my questions, a small ball of light just struck the baby.

"...Alice, her name will be Alice" my mom just said with a genuine smile.

But didn't they notice the small ball of light?

"So you are here" Kastor just magically appeared beside me, and said in a calm voice, "Is this your decision?"

Who are you talking to? Can't he see that I'm just beside him?

"If that is your decision, I will protect her with all my might until this war is over" he said to himself.

And just like that, like in a puzzle, the surroundings of the place started to fall apart. And took me to another place, in a forest.

"...we may meet again, Alice Yalito" I heard a familiar voice and saw a man and a little girl, who was actually me.

I went to a familiar place that really gave me chills when I remember this place.

The man started walking away from the little girl, and the girl started to run towards the man. And I, on the other hand, also started to run towards him too.

But again, like deja vu, I can not seem to catch up.

I saw the other me stop running and picking a feather. But I didn't stop running and continued chasing him.

I have so many questions, like why am I here? How did I come to this place? Why am I seeing all of this? And why do I need to know all these different things?

I need answers, that is why I continue to chase him, but whatever I do, I can't seem to catch up.

I felt heavy on my legs and saw the ground turn into a muddy place. And my vision becomes blurrier as my eyes want to fall asleep.

But I still want to catch up with him, so I continue running even though I feel tired and heavy.

I want you to talk to me, please...Kastor...

In the end, the heavy feeling, like the mud consuming me, won. And I fell into a deep sleep once again.
