As I tried to leave, Nathan grabbed me unexpectedly. He was already quite drunk, and whether intentionally or not, he draped an arm heavily over my shoulders, making it impossible for me to slip away. "Looks like Mr. Nickel is going to be the last one standing," I said, watching the dwindling group at our table, feeling a twinge of urgency. "Hey, what's going on here? You're all losing on purpose just to have fun on the beach, aren't you?" Nathan shouted loudly, rolling another six on the dice. His booze-soaked breath drew closer to my face as he added sleazily, "I'm waiting for you, baby." So far, luck had kept me from being the lowest scorer each round.
