Chapter Twelve Talon Talon fought against the pain as he lay half curled on the stone floor of his room. He gasped as he held back the roar that hovered at the back of his throat. Lacey was next door. He couldn’t make a sound. What stupid idea had possessed him to put her there? A drawn out groan escaped and he closed his eyes, trying to block out the pain.
