Elara stepped into the doorway and the world changed.
The library behind her dissolved like mist. In its place stood a vast circular hall made of white stone and golden light. The ceiling arched impossibly high, carved with constellations that slowly moved. Pillars lined the room, each one engraved with strange runes and symbols in dozens of languages. Some, Elara recognized. Most often, she didn’t.
In the center stood a pedestal. And on it, a key
Not metal, not wood. It shimmered with energy, pulsing softly like the book before it. Etched into its handle were three words:
“Curiosity unlocks all.”
She approached it cautiously. “Where am I?”
Her voice didn’t echo. It felt swallowed, like the space itself was listening.
The book, still clutched in her hands, suddenly flipped open on its own. New words appeared.

The room shifted. The onstellations froze. A new voice boomed not from around her, but from within her.
“What is the question that burns inside you?”
Elara’s mouth went dry.
It wasn’t a riddle. It wasn’t hypothetical. Something inside her stirred—deep, primal, like a sleeping fire nudged awake.
Why do people stop asking questions?

Why do people stop asking questions?
She didn’t say it. She thought it. And the pedestal responded.
The key floated upward. The air shimmered. Then the key split into four shards, each shooting off into the air north, south, east, and west through four arched doorways that had not been there moments ago.
From the pedestal, a symbol glowed four intersecting circles. One pulsed red, then faded.
Another line wrote itself in the book.
“The Four Keys must be found. Curiosity is only the beginning.”
Elara’s heartbeat quickened. This was no dream. No hallucination.
She didn’t know what was on the other side.
But she knew she had to find the others. Whoever they were.
And whatever this was… it was much bigger than her
