“Say, doctor…” I start slowly, taking the words one at a time, concentrating my attention to him. “Do you know what happened to me?” I ask and all four of them stiffen at my question.
I knew they were hiding something. I never expected the doctor to be in on it as well. Now that my mind was calm, I could think clearly. I wasn’t sick in any way but then I’m suddenly coughing up blood and having a full on heart attack that nearly had me six feet under.
Is it related to my mate bond? Did I take it too lightly?
Questions… so many questions that I need answers to and here they were hiding something as serious as this from me, again. I frown at the thought. The doctor passes a brief look behind me before opening his mouth and slowly turning his gaze to me.
