Chapter 33BristolI stayed three days in Bristol. There were two meetings at the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and in addition to some lectures, a considerable amount of time was spent with the archaeological faculty and their technicians. When I’d delivered the artefacts, the first day had been spent closeted with Professor Whittaker, the head of the faculty. Predictably, he had exhibited a healthy dose of scepticism.
