Chapter 2: Meeting His Wolf

2265 Words
I woke from a soft snore coming from behind me. I tried to get up but strong, hearty arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer. Alpha was possessive, wasn't he? I tried what I did yesterday, teasing with physical touch then when everything was ready, run off. I turned over on my side so my face was nearly to his perfectly muscled chest. I looked up, noticing his golden eyes closed and his breathing steady and slow- a sign of sleeping. I placed one hand on his hard chest and felt his abdomen, his face changing to a breathless expression in his sleep. I pulled myself up and kissed his cheek for a while before moving down his throat with the softest kisses I could muster. Very hard to do. When I heard his throat rumble slightly in a soft growl, I knew I was on the right track. I licked one certain spot, and his growl rumbled louder, a pleasurable sound to my ears. I made my way back up his neck and to his chin, hoping the grip around me would loosen, but boy was I wrong. 'You didn't think you could fool our mate a second time, Chayse? Did you?'  'Aria! It's the morning, please forgive my foolishness, but right now we have bigger probl-" Xander pulled me closer and hand on the back of my head, pulling me to his lips, but holding me only a few centimeters away. He started to chuckle and it confused me greatly. "You thought I was sleeping? Oh Little Mate, if I had stayed asleep through that I would have to hate you," he laughed, his golden eyes changing to have specks of light blue inside.  'His wolf! His wolf!' I sniffed and smelled a stronger scent of mint coming from Xander.  "You're wearing my shirt, Chayse." he growled seductively, moving a hand down my bare leg. My whole body shook, Aria was howling and purring like a housecat, I was frozen. "You'd better change that before things get too out of hand." He loosened his grip and I took this opportunity. I bolted to the door and sprinted down a different hallway than before, seeing windows to my left. I looked down briefly and snarled to myself.  Come on! Who needs a four story house? I mean, who cleans all of it? I bolted down the stairs that lead to the front door, but gasped when I found Xander standing there, his arms open and his smirk obviously noticeable from a mile away. He grasped my waist once more and pulled me closer, his breathing on my neck making me go limp. "Little Mate, you're still wearing no pants with my shirt and you ran off," he whispered, his grip tightening on my waist. I gaped at the pressure applied and was sure there would be bruises forming just like my wrist. I whimpered and his eyes shone with regret and hurt just like yesterday before he picked me up, making me straddle his waist and placed me on the couch, his body leaning over me, examining me. I rolled my eyes.  "Could you please give me a moment without physical contact? I find myself always in your grasp and a free wolf like me would really like some time to run around and be the woman that I am," I say, the tone in my voice obviously annoyed. He growls, but lets me up anyways, my waist finally getting some relief. "I am going to work. Stay here, I have someone coming to take you around town." he mutters before ascending up the stairs back into his- our room. I sighed and collapsed on the couch, promising to never try that trick again. I lifted the shirt slightly and saw brown bruises on my sides, red lining them. I frowned, but dealt with the pain anyway. I listed myself and traveled into the kitchen that was conjoined with the living room that I was currently in. I opened the cabinet above the toaster and found the most delicious thing that my eyes had ever laid their sight on.  Pumpkin bread. Because I was short, I couldn't reach, so I climbed. I pulled myself up into the marble white counter and then grabbed onto the shelf, but I slipped out of the cabinet. I tumbled backwards, reaching for the door to the cabinet. Eh, that didn't work. The cabinet door was pulled off because of my weight, so I twisted in the air and landed straight on the floor, the cabinet door underneath me. I cringed as my wrist took most of the impact, but my werewolf healing is already at work, mending what was torn. "Snickerdoodle!" I cursed, lifting myself. I didn't normally curse, let's just say that. "Stupid cheap cabinets and such fancy counters. Curse the kitchen gods!" The patter of feet could be heard from a little bit away, definitely not from a man.  "Hiya, Luna!"  I jumped, my senses kicking in full drive. When I noticed a girl, I calmed down and gave her a small smile. "Hi?" "I'm Caroline, Luna, and I am here to take you around town, buy you some clothes and hang out for the day!" she said, her voice excited and peppy. Just like Eliza. I gave her a bigger smile. "No need to call me Luna, Caroline. I prefer just my first name, Chayse," I reply, taking a step towards her. "So, where are we going first?" She leaned forward as if she were going to tell me a secret. "Meet me outside once you've gotten dressed." She ran off to the front door and threw it open, going through it then sitting on the porch step. I shrugged and went up the stairs to the second closet, where Xander said my clothes would be. I picked out a simple outfit then pulled on my white converse and headed out the door, meeting Caroline on the porch. When she saw me she bolted, taking off and expecting me to follow.  Well, it worked. I followed, running into the nearby town where wolves crowded over stores, coffeeshops, and restaurants. She halted and I slowed down to a walk, walking beside her into a coffee shop. I gawked at the smells inside that overwhelmed me and almost drooled at how good everything looked and smelled.  "Chayse?" She snapped her fingers, getting me out of my trance. "Earth to Chayse!" I looked over at her and rolled my eyes. "Everything just looks so good, so don't judge me!" I teased, punching her arm playfully. She returned the punch and I smirked, going to the register to order. "I would like a chocolate caramel frappuccino with whipped cream and cinnamon on top."  "Come right up, Luna," the female replied, pouring in some chocolate syrup and caramel syrup then adding coffee, making it all seem so fancy. She quickly put the whipped cream on top, then sprinkled the spice to perfection. "There you go, Luna. Just for you." I went to get out my money but the woman stopped me. "No need, you are our Luna, miss. Anything for you." I smiled kindly at her and thanked her quickly so that Caroline could order. We sat down at an outside table, taking in the sun and the coffee. "So how are things so far with Xander?" Caroline asked, resting her head on her propped up fist. I shrugged. "Fine I guess. I tried to trick him a couple times to go home, but it didn't work out so well. He always managed to know where I was headed," I replied, stirring the cinnamon and whipped cream into the soft liquid. To me, it made the drink creamier.  "Well, that's just the mate's bond," she replied, downing her coffee quickly. I shrugged again. "We haven't seen our wolves yet, and my wolf is desperate for me to shift," I say, feeling Aria begging to shift. The full moon was close, and that's when I had to be wary of Xander's actions. Our emotions get heightened and so does everything else. Surely he will think to mark me before the full moon in two days. His wolf won't let him resist, but I can't blame him for that. With more wolf bloodline than the rest of the pack, The Alpha, the Luna, the Beta, and the Delta all have to deeply try to control our wolves. It is always hard, but I succeed every year.  "We can shift today if you'd like. Out in the woods after we get some more clothes for you. You know formal ones," she sighs. "My wolf is itching to shift as well." "What rank are you?" "Well, technically I am a Delta that won't become a Beta, but I am Xander's sister so I have Alpha bloodlines," she says, lifting herself. I finished the rest of my coffee and threw it in the trash, content with the amount I had consumed.  Well, the rest is the past. Dress shopping isn't something I enjoy, but shifting was something I could look forward to. We made our way into the forest on the other side of the Alpha house and the Pack houses. It was the biggest and thickest forest I have come to see, and that excited Aria deeply. She was growling inside to shift. Caroline went behind a bush and so did I, stripping myself of my clothes and shifting quickly. I have come to find myself shifting faster and faster with the times I shift.  Shifting is something normal for me. A habit. I used to shift every morning and go for a run as a part of my cardio training. My white wolf stepped out from the bushes and I saw a white wolf with red tones and amber eyes staring at me. She huffed, and sniffed me, noticing that I was Chayse. I did the same and found that it was Caroline. She went into playing position and I found myself tackling her to the ground, triumphantly curling my tail to the lower part of my back like a husky would. I let her up and she grunted, slightly frustrated how I won our little game so easily. She ran, moving towards a body of water. I followed, but before I knew it, my paws reached shallow water. A small stream that was very wide. Small creatures live here like tadpoles. I stuck my muzzle in the water and threw it up again, making it feel like a little bit of rain was dripping down my fur.  Caroline let out a peppy snort and rolled around in the water, her pelt soaking wet. I let out a wolfy grin, my teeth forming a smile. Caroline found a smaller fish and grabbed it by the tail and swung it at me, throwing the fish at my face. It wiggled on my nose for a moment as I stood, blinking, before it fell back into the water. I grunted and mind linked her. 'What was that for?' 'I don't know, just having fun." She paused, her ears lifted and her nose stuck up in the air. My heart tugged at me, my nose catching a scent that I would never forget. My heart now hammered as a huge black wolf with the brightest blue eyes emerged from the undergrowth, his paws barely getting wet from the stream. He growled at Caroline and she ran off, leaving us alone. I gulped as he sniffed, taking in my scent then rubbing up against me.  He's staking a claim. He nipped slightly behind my ear and licked my neck, taking in more of my scent. His wolf was almost in control, and I could barely control mine as well as he continued to press his nose into my neck and lick my face. I decided to give into his affection for once and lick his nose. His surprised look made me give him a confused look.  He wasn't pinning me down or anything, just simply showing me affection, and I respected that. That's when he was able to earn my affection back. He pressed his side up against mine, and I could feel Aria trying to talk to Xander's wolf. Xander slightly growled and I pressed the perch of my head underneath his jaw inside the crook of his neck, comfortably resting there. His satisfied grunt made Aria push harder for control.  And I let her. Since Chayse let me take over, I decided to be daring. Alpha was fully aware that Chayse let me take over and he did the same, his eyes glowing brighter. I licked his neck and he growled viciously, making me grunt with satisfaction.  He caressed my ear, licking my inner and outer ear softly. I never knew Xander's wolf, Hunter, had so much control. Well, and then he didn't. He pushed me down to the ground, the stream water only barely touching my ears. I let Chayse back into control. Xander was on top of me, and I bolted away, shifting quickly and pulling on my clothes before walking inside the Alpha house and sitting on the couch. Well, I guess my time with Caroline was short, but I'll see her again, I know it. Xander came in about ten minutes later, his wolf still hardly under control. I smirked, knowing that I was the reason he could barely keep himself under control and lay down, covering myself with a blanket. Now we'll see how this all plays out.
