By the time we got to the park, it was getting dim. The park was alive with soft golden light as the sun dipped below the horizon, radiating long shadows over the winding stone paths and shimmering lake. The air smelled of roasted nuts and sweet caramel, mixing with the evening breeze. People moved around us, some were laughing, some were strolling hand in hand and some were lost in their own worlds. Nick and I walked side by side blending into the hum of the city and settling into the night.
