Chapter 2Fishing was…uneventful. The pond Madison took her to, was a five-minute walk away, and very shallow. She still insisted there was life inside of the water, but it might be harder to wrangle so early in the season. “Everything is slow now. I gotta find something to amuse myself, though, so voila.” She gestured to the water as they settled down on some rocks by the edge. The water was so dark green it seemed more like an aventurine stone Rachel kept in her desk at work.
