Ana kept her word, for the remaining five years of their marriage, Ana let Peter be, she watched him go and returned to the mansion whenever he liked, and went about his affair with Rita as he lived his life, separately from her and never cared if she exited or not.
It's a month to their sixth wedding anniversary and Ana kept her promises to herself. She never looked Peter's way no matter how tempting it was. All she wanted was for the days to go by fast enough leading to the end of their marriage. At the end of their marriage, she would be free to leave the mansion, live her own life and get over whatever feelings she had for Peter. When their marriage ends everyone gets their inheritance.
Ana was no longer interested in her share of the inheritance anymore, she just wanted to get out of the Xung family and far away from Peter. Over the years she has saved up enough from what the companies pay her as Peter's wife and she is able to start her life all over with that. Peter can keep the whole of the Xung wealth she never asked for or wanted in the first place.
“Mrs. Xung, your husband has just came in, I think something is wrong with him” the maid informed Ana interrupting Ana's thoughts
“What do you mean, something is wrong with him?”
Ana asked, alarmed.
“He is not looking well and he almost fell off the stairs” the maid tells ana.
“Oh my God, is he okay?” Ana asked standing up to go see for herself.
Ana and Peter may never be husband and wife or even be friends but that doesn't stop Ana from being genuinely concerned for his well being.
When Ana got to Peter's room, she met him, folding up on the bed and shaving.
“Oh my God! Are you okay?” she asked but he didn't respond, he was just shaking.
Her nursing instinct took over and she quickly hand-checked his temperature.
“My God, you are burning up!” Ana screamed, and ran off to get the first aid box and some medical supplies.
Peter was still shaving on the same spot, when Ana returned. She moved into action and began to take off his clothes.
“Who are you and why are you touching me?” Peter asked, sounding like a half-drunk man.
“It's me, Ana. You are coming up with an illness and I'm trying to help you” she explained in the most professional way.
“Ana_ Ana, you Ana, it's you, and you are taking off my clothes and touching me” Peter struggled to say from his subconsciousness.
Ana smiled and almost laughed because he sounded funny.
“I'm taking off your clothes to work on your temperature. I'm trying to help”
“Help_ Ana Help, Ana doesn't help me, she came to take everything away from me, every single thing” Peter insisted, he was hallucinating, Ana observed as she quickly got to work on him, before things got out of hand.
Peter was calm and he slept off, Ana checked on his temperature again, it had gone down , relieved, she put the cover over him. She watched him sleep peacefully like a child, he looked so handsome and gentle like he could not hurt a fly.
Ana sat close to him, wondering what had happened to him, she had seen the insects bites all over him, and wondered where he got them from, as she believes they are the cause of his illness.
For the next three days, Peter slept over his fever as Ana took care of him, he would occasionally wake up, muttering a few words about climbing the mountains and then drift off again.
Ana was almost living in his room, she didn’t want him to be alone when he finally woke up, he might go into shock, so she stayed with him as she nursed him to health.
“And how is he doing today? Gloria asked when she brought food and other supplies for Ana.
“He is getting better,” she answered, taking the items from her.
“I can see that, he looks better, his color is returning”
“Yeah, any news of where is been and what happened to him?” Ana asked, she was genuinely concerned.
“No, still no news. Nobody seems to know” Gloria answered. She has contacted everyone who will have answers but nobody seems to know.
Ana shook her head, she thought this was strange.
“How are you holding up? You are stressed out, you do not have enough sleep” Gloria was bothered about Ana she had been by Peter's side, worry she would break down too.
“I’m okay, I will rest when he is awake and stable,” she tells her.
“You should have allowed me call the Medical_”
“Gloria I’m fine, it’s my job remember” Ana remained Gloria she was a Nurse.
“Okay, but please get some sleep” Gloria let it go, it was hard to win over Ana when it came to Peter.
“I’m going out shopping, is there anything you would like me to get you?” Gloria asked
“No, I’m fine” she replied and Gloria left.
Ana ate up and decided to take Gloria’s advice and slept.
“Awwww” Peter was waking up, his head was spinning and then banging. He had to hold it. The pain was too much.
“Awww” he cried out again and Ana woke up.
“Thank goodness,” she said, but observed him to see if he would drift off.
“f**k! Why is everything spinning, where am I?”
“You are at home, in the mansion” Ana answered, it seems he will be awake longer this time.
“Home? How did I get here_ Jesus my head hurts” he cried as he tried to sit up.
“Easy,” Ana reached out to help him sit.
“It’s you, what are you doing here? Why are you here? Don’t touch me” he tried to stop Ana from touching him, but he was too lazy to stop her.
He was, back Ana was pleased, he recognized her, that means his brain was working fine. Good job, she applauded herself.
Ana places a pillow on his back so he sits up and rests on it. Peter was confused and the headache was making it worse. He was trying to remember what happened. He had gone camping with Rita and some other friends. They got so far into the woods and he was attacked by strange insects, he had to fly back to the city for treatment.
Then how the hell did he get to the Mansion, he was trying to remember through the headache.
“f**k! My head hurts” he cried.
“As expected, I will give you something for that,” Ana said.
Why was she here? She shouldn't be here. What does she hope to achieve with all this show of kindness? Peter wanted to know, he knew Ana was of no good and would be looking for a way to get under his pants and he wouldn’t allow that.
“What happened to me?” Peter asked, he was finding it had to put the rest of his memory together.
“I don’t know, Gloria had been trying to find out. You came home and fell on your way to your room, the guards brought you up here, and I have been nursing you” she narrated.
“Who took off my clothes?” He asked noticing he was naked under the covers.
