The conditions!

1491 Words
“What conditions?” Stella asked. Peter was too angry to ask, he had had enough of the rubbish. “The conditions are as follows; Peter would have to marry Ana and they would both move into this Mansion as husband and wife” Now it was Ana's turn to laugh out loud. She stopped when Peter and Stella glared at her. “Explain, how do you mean to marry?” Peter thought it was no longer a joke as it was no longer funny but rather dramatic. “You, Peter, to marry Ana. You are both going to be married and become husband and wife before any beneficiary of this will can have their inheritance.” Mark rephrased. “ You just made that up, didn't you?” Peter said, chuckling at the idea of marrying someone from the slums. “No, it is all written here, in black and white” Mark informed him. Ana was still wondering when she would wake up from this funny dream. She had always liked Peter and often daydreamed about how it would feel to be kissed by those thin lips of his. But marriage, she had never thought of that. “Second” Mark started reading again. “Oh! there is still more” Peter mocked. “The marriage between Ana Scott, my caregiver, and Peter Ned Xung, my grandson, would have to last six years before they could get divorced if they so wish. If either party tries to get a divorce before the sixth year of their marriage, they both lose their inheritance” Mark continued. “f**k! For six f*****g six years, I have to be married to this_ low-life” Peter addressed Ana sizing her from Head to toe. It is never going to work, he would have to look for another way to get hold of his inheritance than marry this dirty girl. “I don't want to marry you, either,” Ana murmured. She was also not interested in marrying a man who looked at her like trash. “Did someone talk? did she just talk back at me_ you have no opinion on this matter. Or do you think I don't see your victory smile? You came in here, pretended to be a f*****g caregiver but you had other plans, to steal the Xung wealth. Listen to me little thief you got the old man fooled into doing this, but you can't fool me. One more word from you again and I will have you thrown out of the mansion” Peter warned. “I didn't, I had no idea Papa Li was going to do this, and like I said, I'm not interested in marrying you, and I don't care if you throw me out” Ana had to defend herself, she couldn't take any more of his insult, lowlife or not, she had an integrity to protect. Before now she was doing an honest job to take care of herself. “Oh! I see you dare me, Rob!” Peter called for one of his bodyguards to throw Ana out. “Peter, you can't do that” Mark stood up to stop him, and Rob, who was ready moving into action. “ And while is that? you saw her question my authority” Peter was pissed. “The authority in question now equally belongs to both of you. As she has every right to this mansion and to be here” Mark explained to the amazement of Peter. In frustration, he pulled both hands through his hair. This can't be happening, if it was a nightmare he wanted to wake up now, because he had had enough. “You can't throw her out, on less she desires to leave.” “Fine, Mr. Mark, if that's the end of the reading I would like to leave, my head is spinning” Ana placed a finger to her head. This whole thing was just too much for her brain to get all in at once. It was overwhelming. “Ana dear,” Gloria quickly reached for her, holding her back from leaving. “No, it isn't all Miss Scott, I will suggest you sit down for the rest of it” Mark advised her. “Yes dear, please come and sit over here” Gloria quickly directed Ana to sit a good distance away from the rest of the Xung. Ana sat and tried to endure the rest of the reading. “Thank you” Mark appreciated Ana for her patience and understanding. Peter was dumbfounded at how things were playing out. He has lost his authority around here to a dirty nobody. “When Ana Scott finally marries Peter and becomes Ana Xung. As a wedding gift and as the new Mrs. Xung gets all of Madaline’s collection of Jewelries' ' Mark began reading again. “What?” This time Stella screamed out loud to the shock of everyone, she couldn't hold it in. “She gets what?” “Exactly what you heard me say” Mark confirms. Peter didn't care for jewelry; the gold digger could have them all for all he cared. What he was after was his full share of the Xung wealth. “She gets all of it, the diamonds, the golds_ everyone” Stella was angry, after all these years of waiting, the old man still couldn't give it to her. Papa Li had never liked her as a daughter-in-law, he also thought Stella was too materialistic and he wasn't wrong. “Yes, ma’am all of it” Mark affirms. Ana had both hands on her head to keep it from falling over. She couldn't believe all she was hearing. She gets half her wealth running into billions and now a collection of jewelry. This was f*****g too much. Papa Li went too far, he should have just given her the books. That would have been a lot easier to handle than all of these. Ana wouldn't handle it; from a nobody to a billionaire in one night. Gloria held onto Ana's shoulders to give her moral support. The poor child is overwhelmed. “Peter,” Mark called, continuing his reading. Peter didn't even look at Mark’s way at the call of his name, he was tired of the rubbish he read. “You remember how I used to tell you, your impatience would not allow you to see some good things around you? Well it did, and I have made it my will to bring it to you, I hope it makes you happy as I know it would” Mark finished. Peter remembered that Papa Li would always say that to him, mostly after a dress-down, he never understood why even at this very moment. “Ana” Mark called as he continued his reading. “You remember how I told you, you had eyes for good things_ well I have brought one of those good things to you. I hope he makes you happy, as I know it would” Ana remembered, and her eyes filled with tears, and she let them fall. At that moment she remembered the first day she met Peter. They were both at Papa Li's office, where she had just helped him take his medications for that day. Peter stepped in and Papa Li introduced them. Ana wanted to leave so that they could have privacy. but Papa Li made her stay, requesting a foot massage. She worked on Papa Li's feet while they discussed. Ana couldn't stop staring at the handsome Peter as he talked, smiled, and laughed with his grandfather. Whenever his dimples appeared it made Ana motionless and Papa Li noticed. “What do you think of my grandson?” Papa Li asked when Peter left. “Who? Him? Nothing” Ana tried to lie “Just speak freely, what do you think?” papa Li insisted. “Humm_ okay if you say, I can speak freely” Papa Li nodded in agreement. “I think he is a bit naughty and intimidating” Papa Li laughed “We all know that, I mean something else, I saw how you looked at him,” Papa Li smiled. “You did,” she smiled and blushed. “Yes, all the time you started” “Okay_ fine, he is handsome and I think behind his hard blue eyes there is some goodness” Papa Li agreed with her, Peter can look mean but he is kind. “I would agree with that observation_ and would also like to tell you, you have eyes for good things” They both laughed. Ana half laughs, bringing her back to reality. The old man took those moments seriously and made it his wish for her to marry his grandson. Someone who had never looked at her the same way she looked at him. How would they make Papa Li's wish work?
