Chapter 2 – The accident

Aki took his eyes off the road and kept arguing with Kai.
Suddenly, a person came out from no where and caught Aki’s attention but at such speed, Aki was not able to stop on time.
It’s too late, his car hit the person and the person lies motionlessly on the ground.
Both Aki and Kai only had some bruises and Aki quickly get off his car to check on the person.
It’s a girl and when he turns her over, he got shocked.
“Mina?”
Kai run to Aki and when he saw the person’s face, his eyes widen.
“Mina?”
Both Aki and Kai are confuse but without further wasting time, Kai quickly picks the girl up.
“What are you doing?” Asked Aki.
“We have take her away before someone sees us. Quick Aki, get in the car. I’ll drive. We can’t let anyone know that you hit a person.” Said Kai.
They drove away with the girl lying motionlessly behind the passenger seat.
“Mina. It’s Mina. Kai, it’s Mina.”
“No it’s not Mina! She can’t be! Mina is dead and she died in front of us remember!” Kai shouted and his eyes are watery.
“We need to dispose her body Aki.”
“Stop the car!” Said Aki and he quickly ran to the back seat to check whether she’s alive or dead.
“She’s breathing, Kai. We need to bring her to the hospital!”
“No Aki! We can’t! People will know you ran over her!”
“Call Dr. Mo and ask him to meet us at our place.”
“What happen if she reports you to the police, Aki?
“I don’t care! I’ve lost Mina once and I can’t lose her again Kai.”
“Aki, she’s not Mina.”
“It doesn’t matter. Call Dr. Mo now and I’ll drive.”
Aki speed home and quickly carry the girl to the basement once they arrived.
In the basement, there’s a room that looks like an operating room and in there Dr. Mo is waiting.
“Dr. Mo please save her.”
“I’ll do my best, Aki. Now allow me to check on her condition.” Dr. Mo said in a calm manner.
After waiting for an hour, Dr. Mo finally open the door.
“She’s fine Aki. Just a broken bone on the leg but not life threatening. A plaster cast for a month will do. Other than that, just some minor cuts and bruises here and there.” Dr. Mo explained.
“Thank you Dr. Mo. Kai will send you out and thanks for coming over at such hours”
“No problem Aki. You take care.”
Dr. Mo left the room and Aki still couldn’t believe his eyes that this girl who looks exactly like Mina.
Aki found her purse and saw her identity card.
“Name, Annie Huang. Age 28, 2 years older than Mina. Nationality, Chinese.” Aki reads.
Half an hour passed and the girl opened her eyes.
“She’s awake. Call boss.” One of Aki’s man said.
He called Aki and less than a minute Aki came to the basement.
The girl didn’t say a word and seems to be lost.
“Where am I?”
“You’re at my place, don’t worry you’re safe.” Aki answered.
Annie begin to feel anxious..
“Who am I? And who are you and who are they?” Asked Annie.
Aki is surprise to hear her asking such questions and so he quickly turns around and phone Dr. Mo.
“Dr. Mo it’s me, Aki. The girl doesn’t seems to remember who she is. What’s going on?”
“Really?! The impact might have affected her brain. It would be best to bring her to hospital and allow me to conduct an MRI scan.” Said Dr. Mo.
“Alright, I’ll bring her to you tomorrow morning then.” Aki hangs up the phone.
