Under Arrest

990 Words
Lilith spent the next couple of days studying the Otero family and from what she found, they were an extremely wealthy family involved in politics and law.  Carlos Otero was a high profile politician who was running for president. Unlike other politicians though, he seemed to be well liked by the general public and therefore the next elections looked like they would be going in his favour. What surprised Lilith the most however, was that there was no dirt on Carlos at all. The entire web did not have a single piece of data that could possibly tarnish his image in any way. The man never even frowned apparently and it made Lilith wonder if the general public really trusted someone that was apparently that level of perfect. Anyone with a right mind should have at least questioned how it was possibly for someone to have such a clean personality, mind set and even personal life. Even his family were perfect angels apparently.  His wife, Sofia, was the perfect trophy wife. She was gorgeous, and despite being educated she was a perfect housewife who took care of their home and family. In every photo of her, she had a huge million dollar grin adorned on her face and despite being in her mid-fifties, she did not look a day over thirty. But she swore it was all because of a healthy diet and exercise. She was supposedly a good Christian who did not believe is aesthetics. She believed that all humans should embrace what God has given them. Lilith rolled her eyes. It was more than obvious the woman had botox done to remove some of her wrinkles. She could barely move her facial features.  Aside from his perfect wife though, his teenage daughter was just as perfect apparently. Ester Otero was not only ranked in the top 0.1% in the nation when it came to grades, but she also excelled in extra-curricular activities too. She was an excellent debate team leader but she also a gold medalist equestrian. In fact, she was so perfect to the rest of the country that she was even on the cover of multiple teen magazines and dubbed the "perfect teen for all teens to look up to". Lilith couldn't help but laugh. Unless the girl was a robot, it was impossible to be that perfect. She just couldn't believe how ridiculous this family was and the fact that they tried so hard to push the perfect image on to the public made her shake her head. What was worse was how the country was actually eating it up. Lilith's eyes then slid over to one of the few images of Carlos Otero's son, Valerio. Unlike the rest of his family that was insistently in front of the public eye, Valerio was much more private. There was very little of his life out on display and the only thing the public knew for sure was that he was an excellent prosecutor with only a few losses under his name.  The only other thing the public knew for sure was that Carlos Otero's son was absolutely stunning. And Lilith couldn't deny his good looks either. Carlos's entire family was crazy attractive, but there was just something about Valerio's dark and brooding look that made an unfamiliar warmth grow in Lilith's core. She had to force herself to look away from his photo in order to ease down the feeling.  She found herself mentally kicking herself for thinking such ways about her prey. She knew first hand that in order to be successful in her mission, she needed to be completely free of any type of feelings. But she also trusted herself and knew that no matter what would happen, she would always use her brain first. She was raised to be a monster and she never swayed.  Just as she was about to dig a little deeper to further her plan, her doorbell rang. Lilith wasn't one to have guests since she didn't know anyone but the few times people did stumble upon her door, they were almost always sales people which she did not want to deal with. So she never opened the door before and she wasn't going to start now, so she waited for whoever it was to leave. But whoever was on the other side was insistent and they continued to bang as if their life depended on it.  Lilith bit down on her tongue to stop the flow of curse words from slipping out before she ever so silently walked over to the door and looked through the peephole. Unexpectedly, the lady on the other side did not look like a sales women.  She was dressed to impress with a million dollar suit and heels that probably cost a few houses. She stood there impatiently with her arms crossed across her chest and waited, as if knowing that Lilith was right there behind the door.  Despite her appearance, Lilith was still not planning to open the door. The woman could look like she was the human version of Gucci and Lilith would still not open the door for her. She had a feeling that the woman wasn't going to be simple and she was in no mood for murder. So she'd much rather just let her knock for a while and disappear.  But unlike what Lilith had been expecting, the woman was even more difficult than what she had thought. Before Lilith could even comprehend what was happening, her door suddenly burst open and the woman entered and pinned her up against the wall. Lilith tried to fight her off but the woman was literally made out of steel.  "Lilith Thorn, you are under arrest for the murder of Felipe Sanchez, Jacque Garcia, Henry Martin, Costas Lopez..." and the list went on and on.  "Well f**k!" was all Lilith could say and the woman continue to list out her prey.
