ANGEL'S CURSE*

When an angel crys.

Deep in the Still waters garden the moon shone, the crickets chirps, the frog crocks and the leaves on the trees made a perfect psithurism.

The howling of the wolves woke the birds.The forest was normal in the dark night but in the farthest corner of the garden, deep passed the the pond,near a big Ork tree , stood a small cabin.Horses were sleeping outside, the candles gave light, shadows moved about but not a word came from the chamber.A horse white approached, it neighed disturbing the peace in the middle of the night.The man on the horse takes his time to alight . His boots were heavy as he stepped on the small pebbles.He takes his time to look around again to make sure he was not followed.From the side of the horse he takes a leather bag and walks to the cabin.For a moment he thinks of knocking but he lets himself in.The moment he steps in all the kings turned to him.

"Look what the cat draged in? Dear old Anax.Long time no see."King Bas says drinking from his chalice.

King Anax frowns, he drops the bag in the middle of the round table.He looks around counting the kings present.

King Anax calls a servant,"where are the brothers, I don't see them."

"They haven't arrived yet,"He answers quickly.

He dismisses the servant and sits.From the corner he could see King Bas staring at him with a smile,he rolls him eyes and looks else where.

"My! my! What a big attitude you have Anax did someone die?"King Bas starts laughing after seeing Anax reaction to him comment.

King Balder,who was sitting next to King Anax grabs his shoulder,"Don't listen to him,we have been waiting for long now and he has had too much to drink."

King Anax looks over to King Bas, the drank king blows him a kiss.

"Anax,"King Zosar calls out,"You have kept us waiting for too long now, tell us, what is the meaning of this."

As King Bas finishes the wine and points at him,"Tell us,we only came here to talk about the war... but the war is over now,"He stammers,"I should have burnt this place to the ground."

"We are waiting for them then we will start the meeting, the war ended,"king Anax say calmly,"But my daughter and I are left fighting everyday."

King Bas clicks,"So sad Anax,"he smiles widely,"Do you want a handkerchief?"

King Anax straggles to control his temper, he gives Bas a stare that cleared the wicked smile on his face.

All went silent again, the kings looked at each other questioning the meaning of the sudden gathering.For a moment even King Zosar almost dozed off.Then suddenly a strong chilling wind blew so mighty that it opened the cabin's wooden door.In walked in a fine young woman.She wore a black long sleeved dress covered in black diamonds.On her head was a black veil made of net.She was thin, really skinny.

"Hello gentlemen,"She greets them ,only King Anax stood to give her his seat but he too said nothing to her.

The moment King Bas laid his eyes on her,his blood boiled and he instantly became sober.

"Who invited the devil?"King Bas asks looking at Elena,"Crawl back to the hole you came from witch."

"She is going nowhere,"Brother Thomas says walking from the shadows,"Hail the Angel Abaddon."He greets them.

"Hail the Angel Abaddon,"all the kings replied.

Elena takes a sit next to King Bas.King Bas frowns then shifts his seat.Elena ignoring the rudeness of her neighbor and turns to king Anax.He opens the bag that he brought with him.Out of it he pulls out a human severed head.The kings gasps while king Bas vomited under the table.

"What is the meaning of this Anax, have you completely lost it?"King Balder asks.

"They have grown smarter, some are also walking among us, possessing innocents ,"he lifts the head,"like this poor fellow."

King Bas stands,"How can you let this happen, your job is to keep them in their side of the boundary between us, that's why we send our finest men to help you."

"This demons did not come from the Glebe kingdom,"Elena says,"they have been working on the boundary in the Potage kingdom."

King Bas points at Elena,"My kingdom is next to Glebe kingdom I don't deny but there has been no attack for centuries."

"My men killed this possessed lad in your forest,Red woods."King Anax signs,"I don't want to argue Bas,we have to find a solution for this.The f*******n tree the Angels planted is dying so I say we should help ourselves.Lets unite all our army men and surround Eden,we will kill any demon we see."

"Easy,"King Zosar says,"Doing all these will be pointless, you said they are already in Eden, isn't it?"

"I stand with Zosar, besides Eden isn't a small child's play ground,all our men can not surround her."King Balder backs up.

Silence took over and the desperate kings looked at each other.Brother Thomas in the other hand studied the kings in amazement.He scratches his chin smiling, mocking."All the greatest Kings, deep in the middle of the woods, confused like lost mice, goodness."

King Zosar roars,"Do you want to say something?"

"As a matter of fact I do,"Brother Thomas says,"Infact I have a solution."

"A solution?"all the kings cried together.

"More of a theory but I am sure of it,"he moves closer,"It may seem the Angels have abandoned us but they had given us a solution long before."

"Which is?"king Bas says restlessly,"Out with it."

Brother Thomas continues,"Remember what the Angels did for Adam and Eve when they returned from the dark lands?"

"Who doesn't,"King Balder says,"They blessed them with their blood and promised Adam that in one of his generation a mortal will be born of pure angel blood."

"Exactly,"brother Thomas clicks,"We are all Adam and Eve's descendants but King Zosar is a direct descendant."

"So?"king Zosar asks rudely.

"He is talking about Princess Crystal you moron,"king Bas spills.

"She was after all born in the holy night and according to the rumors she has a burn on her back, in a shape of a hand print," King Zosar looks away uneasy,"Isn't it an indication of an angel's touch,a blessing?"

King Zosar laughs,"Blessing he says, anything she touches turns to ash."

King Bas laughs,"Literally, she killed her to be husband, isn't it Zosar?"

King Zosar spreads his arms around king Bas' neck,"You he-goat I will destroy you."

King Anax and Balder pulled Zosar away from Bas.Once he loosened his grip, king Bas quickly inhaled.

"Cherish your breath Bas I would watch what I said from now on if I were you."Brother Thomas warns.

King Bas straightened his garment and resumed to drink more wine.

"How are you sure of this?"king Zosar returns his concentration to brother Thomas.

"It's written Zosar,"Brother Thomas answers swiftly,"She just has to touch the angel's halo and if it doesn't burn her then my theory is true then we can start from there."

"What if it does burn her?"King Zosar asks.

"It wouldn't,"Brother Thomas dismisses.

King Zosar smiles mockingly,"And you expect me to just believe you,hand you my daughter to burn her?"

"Come on Zosar,"finally Queen Elena speaks.Her mature voice makes all the kings turn to her direction,"Today you care for her but almost a month ago you tried to get her married to a beast."

"She is my child,"King Zosar stands,"If anyone should burn her fingers off it will be me."

Brother Thomas spreads his arms,"Calm down Zosar, it's just a test.We will make sure all her fingers are in place, I promise old friend."

"So what will happen after this?"Balder also stood up.

"We will come back here at night, my brethrens and I will visit Kingdom Demesne tomorrow and confirm this but if it doesn't work we must prepare for war immediately,"He puts his hands together and bows,"Hail Angel Abaddon."Then as sudden as he came was as he left.

In the silence Queen Elena sat in the darkness.She stared at the table motionless until the wind blew in the cabin.The wind was so rapid that it blew the chalices off but Elena remained unmoved.

"You can stop searching, they are all gone, She says.In the cold wind there was a slight whisper that got louder until in the thin air appeared a young child.She was dressed in the finest black outfit.

"Did you take the proposal on the table,"She asks.

Elena remains silent,"They weren't ready to listen to me."

The child looks around for a moment then closes her eyes,"If they don't act fast he will get to us."

"I know but I really don't think any of the royals with agree to help us...."Elena started to speak but the young girl cuts her short.

"Not help but to build an alliance, this must happen before the demons break in to Eden,"The girl walks to Elena,"Child, find a way to get an alliance even if it means you must use force."

"Mother, force?they will oust us from Eden.The royals have been searching for an excuse to get rid of us."Elena complained but the girl commands.

"Make it work Elena, it's either we are ousted or hunted down and slaughtered, either way it's your fault so fix it before it's fixed for you."Then she vanished along with the Elena remained in the dark cabin silent, worried,all alone.
