The Case

Tobias

On my way home after having to deal with the council on my back pressuring me to choose a chosen mate. I'm 30 and I still haven't found my mate. Already having a bad day, I've discovered that this detective from the city police was snooping around the business which put me in an even damper mood and let's just hope nothing else happens today or I will unleash my fury. So here I am heading back to the office to deal with this situation, walking into the main doors I pick up this amazing smell, but it seems distant. Like whoever it was just left.

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" My wolf Theo howls in my head.

"Calm down Thoe we don't know anything for sure yet"

"What are you talking about, we have waited so long for our mate, and she was just here I can smell her don't be dumb?"

"I can smell her too you dimwit but clearly she's no longer here so hold your tail and quit jumping around my head you're giving me a headache."

"Big baby" Theo said finally settling down.

Heading into my office and not even sitting fully down my door opens and Carlos my Beta walks in who handles the physical work while I am in the background for the business.

Oh, I'm sorry, how terribly rude of me to not introduce myself. Where to begin. Well for starters I'm a werewolf, to be more precise I'm an Alpha. The leader of the pack, the person who protects and guides the pack. The pack is kind of like a big family, but we all live together in the pack house or the surrounding area. I'm not just an Alpha, but the Cartel lord of Alabama along with a part of the Gulf of Mexico. I'm the Alpha of the Enigsto pack and the Cartel lord of the Otsgine group. The names pretty original, I know......Not. That's my sarcasm for you but it's really not that special, my ancestors thought we wouldn't be found out if the name was just spelt backwards. I mean I guess it worked so far in our favor since no one has figured out we're Werewolves. Yet. I'm the CEO of Roden Enterprise as a front for the Cartel business. Oh, I forgot to mention the names Tobias Roden.

Back to the situation in the office.

"What's up Carlos?" I said finally sitting down in my chair and looking at the material on my office. Seeing that there's a pile of documents that I have to sign and send over to my assistant. I would like to say that I'm nice to my employees but as an Alpha, Cartel Lord, and a CEO of a business I am known as the most frighting Alpha, Cartel Lord, and CEO. So, when I'm felling super stressed like today, they know it's in their best interest to stay clear from me.

"We had an incident at the warehouse...." Carlos stated looking stoic.

"And..."

"Well, we had an intruder come in undetected. We're still trying to figure out how he got in the warehouse. I interrogated him to see if he was a spy from the other groups. I took care of him, and I found something interesting." Carlos stated.

"Which is...?"

"He wasn't human" Carlos said slowly.

"WHAT!" I yelled. This day just keeps getting worse.

"What do you mean he wasn't human?" I said calming down but still agitated.

"It's exactly as I said. After I interrogated him, Joe saw something in the intruder's blood and I noticed that the situation changed at that moment, so I had Donny deal with him, and he came back and said that he was half demon half fae with some human traits. Which is probably how he got in the warehouse undetected. The question is who sent him and what was he actually there for." Carlos stated handing me the documents of what he just said.

Looking at the documents what he says is true in which I never doubted him but just to make sure, since it doesn't really make sense as the intruder was found by the police a few hours ago so who tipped them off already on the body.

"I see" I said fully alert but putting my hands on my head to think about to do.

Carlos Pov -

Thinking that's theirs so much I have to do before heading back to the packhouse. Heading to the office to hand these documents and see Tobias. I walk in and head straight to Tobias's office, I open the door and see that he hasn't sat down yet and looks frustrated. I'm a little nervous to tell him the report of what happened earlier.

For those that don't know, I'm the Beta of the Enigsto pack and the right-hand man of the Otsgine Group. The names Carlos Letisk. Tobias who is the Alpha of the pack is notorisly known as the most gruesome of alphas and the most feared not only in the werewolf community but in the Cartel world as well. It seems today he's extra stressed and agitated. May be due to the elders pressuring him to find a mate or choose one. I walk over to stand in front of the desk and sit down in a chair.

"What happened today" I said calmly.

Tobias Pov -

"What happened today" Carlos asks me sitting in a chair in front of the desk. When did he sit down? I don't remember him sitting down. Carlos is known as the silent but deadly Beta. He was always like that when we were kids. Sometimes I never know what's he's thinking, not to mention he's my best friend so he tends to always be worried about me so I don't snap. Looking back up at him I answer.

"The elders have pressured me and gave me a time limit to choose a mate. I have 1 month.... But I found my mate." I said looking at him process what I just said.

"Really that's great we have a Luna now, where is she?" He says but his eyes shows he's thinking of something. "I'm sensing something else happened" Carlos says looking at me.

" I don't know where she is...She came into this building but only left her scent when I walked in....I don't know what to do. Along with a detective came in today to talk about a case that just happened. So, my guess is that the police found the body of the intruder you were talking about and have started an investigation. Which they shouldn't have found the body so soon, so now we have to find out who tipped them off as its already lead the police come knocking on our doors. But if you handled it and put the body in a remote area...I'm surprised they were able to find it so quickly. It has me thinking that there's someone in the police department that knows something and maybe was working with the intruder." I said calmly.

"Well, Thats hard to hear that I won't meet the Luna now, but Ill help however I can, to find her. But now that I think about it, it is strange that the police found the body so fast. You said a Detective came...maybe we should head over there tomorrow along with telling the elders to f**k off, just tell them you found her today...they don't need to see her right away and it'll give us time to find her" Carlos says getting up from the chair.

"Thanks, man, for helping me find her, we can stop at the department tomorrow to check things out, don't want them snooping and digging their noses into places they don't belong" I said getting up and walking him out, thinking of all the things I have to do now along with what's brewing with the half demon/ half fae situation. Something is telling me this is just the beginning.
