Dearest doctor,

2026 Words
Dean had learnt not to question certain things, especially when they were helpful to him , so he kept quiet and just observed . How they had somehow been able to get away from the arena with May's lack of even the smallest bit of a sense of direction and with Blade hunched over as low as a f*****g turtle and him running ahead every two seconds to hold the kid from falling off Blade's back while also watching their back and making sure they were going in the right direction was one of those memories Dean never wanted to get back to . He had been sure that they might not make it out and had been pleasantly surprised when they had made it out . They had stopped to rest for a while after getting far enough from the Arena . Now , the noise from the Arena was nothing but a distant buzzing and a distant memory , just until you took a look at the boy on Blade's back and you were thrusted back into this distant memory . Dean stood while the others sat on the floor , the kid sprawled on the ground between them . Blade was breathing like he was on a twenty four hour marathon and Dean was taking it as his punishment for leaving him behind earlier . But , he had been punished enough . " We should get moving , it is almost dawn ", Dean suggested as he studied the sky . Dean of course was not sure this was entirely true , none of them had wristwatches and they had all not come across any clocks . Blade raised his hands while still breathing heavily like he had not been resting for the past five minutes . " I can not go any further , this kid weighs over a tonne even though he looks like a pack of tootbpicks " , Blade puffed out , still panting . Dean huffed and bent to the boy's body , he put his hands around his waist and pulled him up with him , letting the boy rest on his side , it was too dangerous to wait out for too long , it was almost like they would be trying to pick at the miracle that had helped them escape the school grounds . " May ? " , Dean called as he held the kid up . She was seated with her knees pulled up to cover her face and her arms wrapped around her knees , she had been like that for a while , Dean hoped that she had not fallen asleep . She looked up when he called her name , her eyes very wide and obviously not in any way sleepy. " We need to go now " , he told her . She nodded and looked around before she eventually stood up , still quiet . Dean was beginning to think something was up with her , he wondered what exactly and hoped nothing had happened to her . He was going to ask but then realized at the last second that there was nothing he could help any one with if there was indeed something wrong so he kept his mouth shut . After all , if he had been so capable of rendering help , he would not be here to begin with . He did not wait for May to lead the way and just focused on moving on his own , holding the boy up and trying to go the right way . Between looking around the similar houses and lawns to make sure they were going the right way and pulling the kid by his side , Dean literally and figuratively had his hands full and was counting the steps in his head till they got to their destination and he could let go of the kid . So , when May tapped him slowly to gain his attention , he almost began to sniffle with the overwhelmingworkload . " Where did you learn to fight like that ? " ,She casually inquired , shrugging as she did . Dean hesitated , he had thought something great was bothering her and was relieved that she was okay but he was also besmirched that she was bothering him at a time like this for a question such as that , still , he answered . " I already told you of how I learnt to fight , I worked part-time at a Judo studio and picked up a few things ", He told her softly . May shook her head slowly , refusing his answer . " No , I have seen how people that learned to fight from disciplined places like Judo studios fight , they fight good and right and follow the rules , not at all like how you fight ", She told him , like she had watched his fight for longer than she had . That was a distinctly correct assessment of the martial arts though , there were rules that guided a lot of different martial arts . " I fight like that too " , He argued without bite . " No , hon , you fight like you are calculating the risk and reward of your every move . You fight like you are cornered and need to claw your way out .So , where did you learn to fight like that ? " , She asked again , her hands going to rest on her waist . Dean turned to look at her , he could tell her , there was no big deal , it was not like a huge secret or a big deal like she was making out to be . " My father was an engineer , he was very smart and he had been sheltered all his life, he really did not understand how the world worked. Then he met my mum , she was a Bohemian and they just ...", He began from the very beginning . Dean stopped talking when he heard May exhale harshly , he turned to look at her , she had a very blank look on her face , Dean chuckled at it . " A Bohemian is just fancy for hippie , she hated being called a Hippie though ", He explained to her before he continued about his parents . " They fell in love and my father left his family to travel around America with her . They had me on the road and I was homeschooled and a child hippie . When my mum got pregnant again , they decided to settle down and I had to attend a normal highschool ", He said as he thought of how he had felt then when his parents had suggested a school , he had thought that was the darkest part of his life , he had even briefly hated his parents for making him go there. How funny it was , that he had actually thought that . Dean dragged the kid up again as he began to slip down his osde, they were almost at the church . He was so exhausted and was already counting his steps . He could hear May breathing loudly by his side , he could smell her impatience at him from here and he ignore it . " Deannnn , so what happened ? ", She cried out . Dean sighed and Continued with the story . " The day I registered , my parents came with me since I had never attended school or been in the midst of other kids , my mum's hair was braided and self groomed , she was wearing these flip-flops that were made for green world preservation and my dad was wearing a large beach shirt and had his almost waist length hair in a ponytail ", He tried to describe his parents as best as possible . " I had never thought my parents were weird , my only problem was them being overly affectionate but my new schoolmates had a lot of problems with them . Problems that they brought to me and kicked me around for , that was how I first learnt to defend myself ", Dean said to her . May was silent now , but of course it did not last long . " It makes sense then , you ain't never grown up with people other than your family and the only interactions you had with your school people were shitty , that's why you are such an antisocial ", She responded , picking a totally different point from the story . " Wow Doctor , what a spot on acessment , do you think I might need surgery ? ", He asked her jokingly . May giggled softly . " What I am trying to say is , I have never been to high school or any school for that matter , so there is no way I have their problems , I would love your parents , pony tails and home schooling coupled with travelling round the Americas , they already sound f*****g awesome ", May told him . Dean smiled , she said it like not going to school was an accomplishment , he was about to say something when Blade rushed between them , pushing them aside as he ran ahead and past them , up the stairs to the church's door. He pushed the doors open at once and turned around to them . " Come on , enough chitchat for the night , I'm dreaming already ". May scoffed and ran around Dean , she pulled up the other side of the Kid's body and rested it on her . They moved faster as they climbed up the stairs and had to maneuver their bodies to fit through the door . When they were finally in , Blade pushed the doors close and ran up the stairs . Dean watched him leave , wondering if he was in a hurry to use the toilet . " We found some beds in a room up there , must have belonged to the sisters that stayed here ". Dean nodded , grateful for the Halo from earlier that lit their surrounding . " Let's take him to my room ". They walked ahead and on to the altar , when they reached the end , Dean stuck his hand out to find the chip and then slid the door open . They hurried over to the bed and carefully placed his body on it . When his weight was off Dean , Dean could almost cry from how light he was feeling . He picked up his flashlight and turned it on , May was still here . She was fidgeting . " May ? " She lifted her head up . " You spoke of your parents using the past tense , does that mean that they are gone to the great beyond ?" Dean nodded, speechless and at a loss of words at her choice of words. " I'm sorry about that and if it helps, I know how that feels because my mum is as good as dead , sometimes , it would be better if she was dead ". " It doesn't help at all , now go to bed ". May chuckled as she left . When the door had been slid shut behind her , Dean turned the flashlight around to find where he could sleep . The light fell on the journal that rested on the reading table . He had opened the first page of the journal and promised to finish reading it by tonight . Well , there went his plans of a good night's rest . As Dean dragged his feet to where the chair was , a tear finally crawled out of his tired eyes . Lord , how he wanted to sleep .
