A dark figure pinned her down. She could smell the damp earth invading her nose and taste dirt coat her tongue. She knew what was coming and panic squeezed at Amaria's heart. She bucked and tried kicking at her attacker, praying his grip would loosen for even a moment. She just needed a moment of weakness to escape. Instead she felt nipping at her marking spot. Felt the fever flare in her veins and the omega in her jump at the chance to be eased during her heat.
Still she fought. She couldn't allow her nature to allow this unwanted coupling. She tried to force a warning growl, but it only came out as a mewl. She felt the rumbling from the alpha's growl deep in her core. Felt the wolf in her quiver with need. Felt the slick prepare her for the dominating male over her.
Another nip.
Another growl.
Her panic rising.
Amaria shot up. Her heart was hammering against the cage of her chest and sweat dampened her flesh. On shaking legs she slowly stood from the warmth of her bed and walked around her room. Searching for any signs of an intruder. There was nothing but darkness and silence. Another nightmare had stolen her mind. Taking a deep breath she tried to calm herself before grabbing a silken robe hanging over the end of her bed and slipped it on.
She tiptoed down the familiar halls of her small hut. Peace was slowly settling in her veins as she reached a purple door at the end of the hall and quietly opened it. Inside she quickly laid eyes on the sleeping form of her daughter buried almost completely by stuffed animals. Reddish gold hair puffed up around the child's face in a tangled mess and one of her arms draped over her face. The child was complete ignorant of all the bad in the world and Amaria was very thankful for that.
She closed the door once more and made her way across their small living room and kitchen and through another door that lead to her work room. She used this room as a small clinic for her pack mates. A bench to tend them on laid against one wall with a few drawers underneath holding blankets. On the opposite wall was a deck and hutch that contained many herbs and supplies she used often. She opened the hutch and took inventory of everything inside.
With a sigh she took note of the three empty containers. Mint, Lavender, and Willow. She used those three almost daily. "Suppose a quick harvest wouldn't be too bad."
