Jason's P.O.V

"I don't know why you have to go , it's clear that this is MY duty now!" Titan says as his voice gets louder.

"Titan! Stop. This isn't me taking away your Alpha title but, you have to remember that you're only becoming Alpha when the red moon occurs. I am still Alpha which means I go to the meetings not you." I explain to him. If only he’d practice keeping a cool head, it would help him avoid a lot of problems.

"Ok , fine I get it." Finally. "But I want an update everyday you spend there. I don’t like being kept in the dark and you of all people should know that." I can’t help but chuckle.

“Of course I do. You know we're more alike than you think and it only becomes more evident as you grow into a man". Patting his back he smiles at me and we hear a knock.

"Come in." We both say in union, chuckling but, when I see it’s my daughter my smile drops.

Zendea's P.O.V

Just hearing the sound of his voice sends chills down my spine but I plaster a smile on my face anyways and go in.

"Good morning father." I greet him but as usual he pretends I don’t exist

"Morning." He says in almost a low growl. This pierces through my heart but I pretend it doesn’t affect me, that’s all I can do anyway.

"Morning Titan". I offer my brother a warm smile.

"Morning princess, how did you sleep?” Pulling on my hand, he wraps his arms around me, giving me a hug and I sink into his hold. Father clears his throat.

“If you two will excuse me I have some packing to do and Titan, about our conversation, you're requests will be met". He says heading for the door.

"I'm glad to hear that". Titan says coldly as his facial expression changes showing he’s upset. I can’t help the growing feeling of guilt at the pit of my stomach from knowing that the reason he’s leaving is because of me and that I’m also the cause of him and Titan fighting.

As the door closes Titan sits down. "That mother .."

"Titan!". I put my hand over his mouth. "He is our father, watch your mouth". I warn sternly, or well try to.

"Oh come on Zee! He may be our father but he sure doesn't act like it , well not towards you anyways and I hate it. He disgusts me and I'll NEVER forgive him for the way he treats you." Titan says as he slams his fist on the table, flinching from the sound I sigh. If I don’t calm him down he’ll shift.

"Calm down Titan, please. I really don’t like it when you get angry like this.". Pleading with a shaky voice I wrap my arms around him and slowly, his body heat starts to go down. Much better.

“I’m sorry Zee, I know this must be hard for you and I probably make things worse when I act this way but, I just wish I could make you happy. For once.” My eyebrows furrow.

“Titan, our living circumstances aren’t the best I’ll admit but, being here with you is what makes me happy.”

“Really?”

“Really, you have always protected me and loved me, and I’m grateful.” How can he still not see that the reason keeping me from drowning is him? Looking at my watch I glare at him.

“What?”

“Don’t you have training right now?". He grins at me and I shake my head, this guy.

"Sorry." Mhm. "What would I do without you?" He smiles.

"I have no clue, now go, you’re already ten minutes late." As soon as he’s gone I can’t hold back the lip quiver, and then, my tears. Ever since our mother died, Luna Amara , our family hasn’t been the same. There used to be a warmth in this house but not anymore, especially within my father. At first I thought it was because he was grieving but it seemed as though the more I was around, the colder he got. He stopped showering me with love and affection and started being harder on me and barely being around me for more than a couple of minutes. Titan started noticing and began hating our father for it. One night I couldn't take it anymore and asked him why he hated me so much and he slapped me, repeatedly. When Titan found out he lost it and attacked Jason. Ever since then I’ve hidden my pain from my brother because I know he'll do anything to protect me.

Getting a text I take out my phone, it’s from Maya. Maya’s my best friend from a neighbouring pack, we met in first grade.

Maya : Are we still on for today ?

I almost forgot that I was meeting her today, I should go and freshen up. Running up to my room, I respond to her before heading into my closet to pick something to wear.

Zendea : Of course , I've been looking forward to this for a week now. What time should we meet at our spot?

Maya : Uhm .. 10 and don't forget the snacks! Mm yum

Maya : Helloooo ?! A response would be nice

Zendea : Sorry I was looking for something to wear, actually help me !?

Maya : How about shorts and an oversized tee. It's looking hot today ❤️

Smiling to myself I quickly hop in the shower, letting the water envelop me as I use my lavender vanilla shampoo, this stuff smells great. Getting out I wrap a towel around me then dry my hair. Putting on my shoes, I grab my phone and rush downstairs. I have ten minutes left, better grab the snacks.

"You know if I didn't know any better I'd say you were running away." Uncle Theo says from behind me, making me jump.

"Uncle really?! You almost gave me a heart attack." I place a hand over my chest and he chuckles.

“Oh I'm sorry kiddo , I thought you heard me coming in but just chose to ignore me." I didn’t here him, why didn’t I hear him?

"Of course not uncle Theo, I'd never ignore you. I was just too caught up in packing this picnic basket for me and Maya." Uncle Theo, aside from being our pack’s Beta, is married to my mom’s sister, Aunt Amira and him and I are pretty close. We always have been. He’s always been good to Titan and I, and fills the role of being a father to us now that things have changed.

"Ok well you two have fun and please be safe."

"We will. Bye, love you." I wave leaving.

"Love you too kiddo" He yells back. Putting the basket at the back, I buckle up and drive off. It only takes me 30 minutes to get to Killer Mountain, Maya and I’s spot. Because we’re from enemy packs we can’t meet freely but we always make due with what we have.

"Boo!" I sneak up behind Maya and she screams, making me snicker.

"Ahh! Are you fucken nutts?! You pervert." When she pouts I quickly wrap my arm around her, pulling her close.

"Oh come on now don't be mad, I thought you missed me? I’ll make it up to you with your favourite snack, let’s eat I’m hungry.”

"Yeah me too." She’ll never say no to food. Eating with Maya, I still can’t shake the uneasy feeling I got from not being able to sense my uncle’s presence, am I still so useless?

Sebastian's P.O.V

"I am not worthy to be with you." she says as she breathes in heavily.

Leaving kisses down her neck I stop. "Why do you say that kitten?". I ask, continuing to kiss her neck and going lower to her left breast.

When I hear her whimper I can’t help but groan. "Don't do that".

"W-why not?". She asks ,biting her lower lip to hold back another whimper.

"Because.." I stop to look into her eyes. "If you don't I'll have to rip off every clothing you have on and devour you." As I say this her body stiffens and the smell of her arousal fills the atmosphere.

"Devour me then". She says, sounding more sure of this than anything.

This time it’s my turn to stiffen.

"What the hell was that, it felt too real to be a dream and the way she-" I dreamt of her again? The hell is this?

"Alpha we have a big problem." Jake says barging into my room but stops in his tracks when seeing how out of breath I am. “Is everything okay Bass?" He asks with worry.

“Yeah I'm fine stop sounding so concerned, just had the weirdest dream".

"Oh? What about?" There he goes, poking his nose in my business. “It’s not like you have another best friend you can confide in.” He mocks.

“Alright I’ll tell you, just shut up already. Lately I’ve been having dreams.”

“Dreams?” I nod.

“About a girl, at first I thought they were of different girls, since I never get to see her face and it’s a bit foggy, but her voice is always the same so it’s one person. Anyways, I don’t what it means or who she is but, it’s just weird and, irritating.”

“Interesting.” The way he says that just irritates me and why is he smiling?

“Why are you smiling ?" Shaking his head vigorously he puts up his hands.

"No reason." I sigh.

"I'd pressure the truth out of you but you walked in here saying we have a problem. What is it?" Then he gets serious.

"It’s Jason.” My eyebrows furrowed.

"What about Jason.”

"He’s on his way here, right now." Jake says quickly.

“Weren’t we expecting him the day after tomorrow?”

“We were.” I see, the bastard must think he’s smart. “What should we do?”

“There’s nothing we can do, he’ll probably be here soon. Inform the pack and push the necessary preparations.” He nods, bowing.

“Yes Alpha.” Let the games begin Jason.
