A BOOK THAT PREDICTS

Chapter 1

Daniel Pendragon was a 15 years old boy being the only child in his family .He was a handsome boy with blonde hair and blue eyes . Moreover, he was a nerd .He lived with his two parents .He had a best friend called Ben .They all studied in Greenville High school.

It was morning .Dan woke up and was preparing himself for school .He wore his clothes, took his school bag and dropped the stairs leading to the dining.He found his parents waiting for him.He greeted them.

Dan : Morning Dad , Morning Mom

Dad and Mom (in unison): Mornig Dan

They all started taking breakfast .Soon everyone was done.Dan took his bike ready for school.

It was soon library time .Dan entered in the library .He went direct to the shelves looking for a book to read .As he was passing , he discovered that new reference books, which were written by an author Gwanne Donald ,who died a long time ago had been bought.

On top left corner of the shelf , a big maroon book titled "A BOOK THAT PREDICTS "caught his eyes .He stretched his hand and pulled it out.It had a picture of a boy , in the darkness hiding his face a s if a torch had been lit in him.

The first page of the book was black in colour then the next followed with the first chapter . He skimmed the context and cut find anything interesting.Then he scanned the rest of the pages to get any idea on what is inside. All he could find were 14 chapter and the fifteenth chapter was incomplete. Other pages were blank. "Who could publish an incomplete book". He said while closing the book and returned itbin its place .He picked another book about Computer science (You know nerds??).

"Hey Dan" Ben joined on the table that Dan was sitting while reading his

"Hey Buddie ,done with the project about wonders of Indiana."

"Uuh! Noo..got no plans !"Ben said while passing through some online updates .

"Come on what could take you so long and Mr .Finn's gonna have you present it in front of the class"

"I know my buddy is always there for me "

"Who.... wait you mean me?!No way ..what's wrong with you maan"

"What's wrong about having some of your details shifted from your folder to mine"

"Are you kidding ?That's more than even what Satan could ever do."

" Aah ! Fine whatever ..what's up with nerds ".Ben's said while staring at his phone ."Ooh maan! Check this out."

"No no no I got no time for the.."

"Audrey is coming to Greenville "Ben said while doing a victory dance.

"Who the hell is ..that" .Dan asked without looking at Ben's phone.

"She's a...." Just before Ben could finish his statement the bell rang for the students to disperse."

"See yah..I gotta pick her up from the airport ,maybe you guys could join us for dinner tonight ?"

"Yeah sure what time "Dan asked

"7pm"

"7 will be nice "Dan finished.

Ben took off his place and went for theairport .Dan closed his book and returned it to its first place .

As he passed by the shelf which had the big maroon book he picked up before ..the golden stripes that underlined the title glowed red and back to gold...

Back at Dan's Home, a woman with a slim body five feet tall with long and black hair was walking back and forth the living room.It was Dan's mother,Burb. She seemed worried about something. She looked at her wrist watch it was 3:15pm.

"Aah come on,come on , come on Dan where are you !"She said that with her steps getting quicker and quicker.

Soon the door opened and Dan entered inside.

" Hey ma, sorry Iam late .I got your text on my way back home "

" Yeah and what took you so long "

"There was a traffic jam on the way...so what's up with you ,you don't look so great"

"Your dada has been arrested "

"What!..why ...how.."Dan replied while shocked.

" I don't know Iam still confused ...Ummh, can you change... quickly...we have to go."
