I spun, slapping the hand away as my heart nearly burst out of my chest. Three men stood in front of me, their faces hidden by black masks. Three strange men. My stomach dropped, and every ounce of air in my lungs seemed to vanish in an instant. One of them stepped closer, his voice muffled by the mask. “Is this the one?” He asked. The second one nodded like I wasn’t even standing right there, terrified out of my mind. “Yeah, that’s her.” I took a step back, my chest heaving as panic surged through me. What the hell?
