Perfect Mistake

Telling Leo’s mom

A few seconds after Leo rings the door bell a teenage girl with straight brown hair and green eyes opens the door.

“Mom Leo’s hear with a girl and he has gifts.” The girl yells

“ Callie stop yelling in my house.” A tall petite woman with hazel eyes and blond hair says as she comes to the door.

She goes up to Leo and gives him a big hug.

“ Casey come downstairs your brothers here.” Leo’s mom yells

“ I’m happy you’re here Leo but I would have liked a heads up that you were bringing a guest.”

Leo ignores what his mom says and asks“ is dad here?”

“ No your father is on a business trip. Why?”

“ let’s head to the living room where we can talk.” Leo says

As we head to the living room Leo’s other sister comes down the stairs and I notice immediately that his sister’s are identical. Once we make it to the living Leo and I sit on one couch while his sisters and mom sit on the couch across from us.

“ okay Leo now that we are in the living room what do you want to talk about.” Says Loren

“ First before I say anything you all have to promise me that whatever is said in this room will not leave this room and that you won’t tell dad.” Says Leo

The twins say “ promise” at the same time which is a little creepy. His mom seemed reluctant but she nodded her head.

“ Well everyone this is Noa. Noa this is my mom Loren and my sister’s Callie and Casey.”

“Hi” I say awkwardly

The twins both say hello while his mom just nods her head in my direction. I try to brush it off but I’m starting to get very anxious. I think Leo can sense that I’m getting anxious as well so he puts one hand on my thigh and squeezes it.

“ well I have two boxes one box is for mom and the other are for the twins.” Leo explains

I only got two ultrasound pictures so Leo’s mom has everything in her box that my parents had except for an ultrasound photo of the babies.

“ when I say go y’all will open your gifts at the same time. On the count of three 1 2 3.”

Leo’s mom took her time opening her box while Casey and Callie rushed to open it. I could tell on Casey or Callie I can’t remember which is which but I could tell they understood what was happening because one had tears in their eye while the other just smiled. I got them shirts that says “ crazy sister’s make the best aunt.”

I look over to see a not so happy Loren. I put a shirt that says grandma on it with two grey onesies under it in Loren’s box.

“ Girls go upstairs “ Loren says

“ but mom” one of the twins said

“ Callie and Casey go to your rooms right now.”

Callie and Casey both leave but give their brother a hug and tell us congratulations before they head upstairs. Once the twins are no longer insight Leo’s mom stands up and starts to pace around the living room.

“ Leo start talking now.”

“ well as you can see Noa and I are having babies.”

“ how do you even know it’s your baby. Hell how do you even know she’s pregnant. I mean no offense Noa but as you can tell by our house we have money and we can’t be too careful.”

I was about to say nothing taken but Leo said “ I know she’s pregnant with my babies because I was her first and she’s showing. You can take off the sweatshirt now Noa.”

I did as Leo said and when I took off his sweatshirt Loren’s eyes went straight to my stomach.

“ oh my gosh what the hell Leo I taught you better than this your dad is going to be so mad. He will definitely not accept this. I won’t tell your dad because you are going to. Leo you put me in a tuff spot and you put your dad in a tuff spot as well do you know what this means.”

“ can you stop think about the damn company for five seconds you just found out your going to be a grandma and all you can think about is the effect it will have on the company are you serious right now.”

“ Yes Leo. I’m not happy that you got a random girl pregnant your only 21. Noa how old are you.?”

“ I’m 19” I whisper

“ oh great your both two kids that have no business having a baby let alone two. That is just so much responsibility that neither of you are ready for. Are going to keep it.”

“First off my children are not its their babies and your soon to be grandchildren second off if all your worried about is money let me introduce you to Noa Pérez. Mason and Eryn Pérez daughter.”

“ oh that’s wonderful we are already partners so our families will merge together wonderfully.”

“ so now that you know who she is your accepting that she’s pregnant with my babies.”

“ well yes. Now I know she is not trying to steal our money.”

“ that’s F*cked up to say mom. Welp I’ll see you when I see you. Casey Callie were leaving.”

“ what do you mean.”

“ well until you accept Noa for more than Just profit for the company than I don’t see a reason for us to hangout. I know mom how important the company is to our family and I would never jeopardize it. But Noa and these babies are now my top priority and I need you to understand that.”

Leo stands up from the couch and reaches for my hand. I take his hand as we walk out the living room and head to the front door. When we reach the front door Leo goes to open it when I hear his sister’s yell

“Wait.”

“ Casey and Callie call me if you need something.” He says and gives each of his sisters hugs.

We are outside the door when Leo’s mom says “ I won’t tell your father and Leo I want you to know I love you no matter what.”

Leo turns around and tells his mom he loves her back and we get in the car and drive away.
