*luke* “let me go! Please! Let me go! Help me!” She flailed and cried under me. Her eyes became unfocused and I’ve never seen any girl like this. Before any f*****g logical reasoning can go through my head, My Possessiveness drove me angry. “No, you won’t leave me side! You’re mine!” She couldn’t hear me. She couldn’t hear my words, and kept crying. Until she was breathing, gasping for air. My pants were starting to feel tight. Shit. I quickly let go of her hands, and got off her. Taking a step back to grasp the full situation. She’s having a panic attack. I breathed in her wonderful scent. But now it’s a scent wallowed in fear, shock and… trauma? “hey, are you ok? Hey!” I reached leaned in to reach out my hands to shake her. But she screamed. Inching and backing away, but stopped. There’re faint bruises on her arms. “Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!” Her voice was cracking, shouting at the top of her lungs. I couldn’t move. My out reached arm paused mid-air. Quickly, she crawled and reached into her hoodie’s pocket that was tossed beside her. Her hands fumbling and trembling trying to type in something, and brought the phone to her ear. “Mi- s**t Where are you?” The voice through the phone was a male. My skin prickled in anger. She sat there, both hands clutching the phone, with shaking breaths she tries to say something, almost inaudible. Tears streamed down constantly and dripping onto the ground. Oh how f*****g much I want to kiss it away. Kiss her pain away. And possibly f**k her right then and there. But something is wrong. Her reaction is wrong. “pick me up. P-please. Mal, I need you” My vision turned red. My wolf threatening to come out in anger and jealously. But I waited unlike those f*****g shits who only follows their d***s. “babygirl where are you?” babygirl? “on the hill. Take me home. Mal. Take me home.” Her breathing is uneven, gasping for air in between sentences. My chest aches seeing her in pain. “I’ll be there in three.” And the male hung up the phone. I stood there for what felt like an eternity, seeing her trying to regain her breathing, her figure shivering, and clawing her own chest as her strength to stand up left her body. As she curled into a ball, her knees up to her chest and lightly bruised arms wrapped around, hiding her face away from my sight and breathed heavily trying to regain pattern. A sound of a car echoed from the bottom of the hill, and made its way fast towards us. Soon after, a ginger haired male with a worried expression jumped out of the front seat. He’s well built, possibly a football player, and ran to her side. No, he’s also a wolf. “Mia, hey. Look at me, Mia I’m here.” Crouching down, his hands on her. On my mate. She looked up through her tears and let out a sigh, reaching her arms that wrapped around his neck, burying her face into his shoulders and wiping her tears on him. He slowly raised his hand, and caressed her hair and back. I bit my lip in repressed jealousy until I bled. My gaze narrowing onto his every move clenching my hands. I want to f*****g rip his throat out for touching her. But My mate doesn’t allow me to touch her. So why him?! “take me home” he hummed in response, nodding and carried her bridal style to the back seat of the car, carefully placing her down until he shot his eyes looking back at me. Growling and baring his teeth. His eyes, green, turned dark. Wordless, but eyes that held murder. Silently, he made his way to the driver’s seat and drove downhill. I yelled in frustration. From my chest to my mind “Why did you let her go? Mate! She’s our mate!” “somethings wrong, couldn’t you sense it you feral f**k?” He lowered his growl. “we both know we smelt trauma. That’s not common. Gyrestone Is probably the safest pack throughout this country. Trauma is common in our pack Reon, But not here.” Reon silenced to a hum of contemplation and thought. “you’re right.” “of course, I’m right. Why wouldn’t an Alpha like me know through the alliance to the biggest and most protected pack?” Reon did not respond. And slowly, I paced myself downhill back to the caravan. Both Jake and Arron looking at me like they just saw Moses parted the ocean. “what happened luke? What was that howl?” I looked and switched gazes between the two, and breathed out an irritating sigh I told them what had happened, and now the two stupid fuckers looked like their eyes could pop out of their sockets, which I’d gladly pull them out. ---- *mia* Breathe mia. Breathe. Breathe. Mal’s here. A squeezing pain in my chest still resides in me as I rested on the back seat of the car. I opened my eyes by a c***k, to see Mal from behind driving me home. “There’s water just on the floor in front of you, drink up.” Mal’s eyes trained on the rear the mirror to check that I’m ok, then back on the road focusing to get me home. Slowly I pushed myself upright and held up the bottle of water and sipped on it, cooling my tongue down my chest to put out the fire. “I’m sorry, for waking you up so early to pick me up.” My heart weighed heavily with guilt, and a light chuckle filled the car. “It’s ok Kitten, I always do what I can for you.” “under one request, is that you stop calling me names” “I’m afraid I can’t do that, Mia.” He placed emphasis on my name, which I know he silently accepts my request. Then comfortable quietness floated in the car, as birds started coming alive, from every tree we pass by and houses with lights switched on, to the smell of food passing through the open window past bakeries and cafes. Slowly we pulled to a stop, in front of my house. “Mia, who was he?” “my mate” “WHO?” He twisted his upper body to face me from the driver’s seat, those green eyes shone in bewilderment, honking the car by accident that caused him to jump, cussing a string of silent words. I looked down to my hands where the bottle rested, cooling my fingertips and thighs. “he... he got on top of me. He touched me” Those eyes, I had ever seen them so wildly dark. Anger was seething through them, and his fingers, shifting into claws that dug into the seat. I winced at the sight of it and he noticed, loosening his grip. “Mia, Darling. Stay away from him.” His voice firm and strong. His eyebrows knitted into a furrow and the retuning green of his eyes trained on me. “but how? The whole “mate” thing makes it hard to whether I like it or not..” Lylith was restless. Whining that we get back to him. Her mate. Well, our mate. I pushed her far until it was quiet. And I felt a big warm pair of hands, cupping mine in Mal’s. Its funny how I react so badly to others touching me or in close vicinity. But not Mal. He knows me. He knows my secret. “Baby. Try.” He leaned in, breathing slowly with determination. “I’ll protect you. I’m your friend Mia.” “Come on, lets get you in the house. Your Dad wouldn’t be happy if she sees you grovelling. Cheer up buttercup” and he grinned so wide flashing those teeth which made him look so comical. A laughter escaped my lips as he stared at me in confusion while c*****g his head. Mal really is nice.
