Chapter 3: Falling

The whole way I kept thinking about Tina who was driving behind my car and following me to my house. I got to my driveway and she parked near the house. “You should probably park inside the house” I suggested and she proceeded to do that. I called Catherine to help with carrying the bags out of the car into the house.

“Did you just raid Nike? You have so many boxes in this truck” she said looking worried. “I knew that I’m way too trusting, is this a trap?” she continued.

“That would be a story to tell don’t you think? Tina driving herself to her own grave accompanied with an enthusiastic 6-year-old who happens to be her son. No, I ordered my years supply of Nike latest shoes and clothes straight from the factory, I am very busy to shop every time a new version is released so I requested for it from the factory” I said trying to offload all the boxes. She looked surprised but quickly dismissed that.

“Let’s go in, I’m not a drug lord if that’s what you’re thinking” I said defending myself.

“I’m kind of disappointed you’re not” she replied holding Ty's hand and we all walked in the house.

“A glass house with white Porcelain tiles, impressive?” she said

“Credit to my team” I replied. She has an eye for design I thought to myself.

Darren grabbed Ty's hand as they ran to Darren's room. Catherine took Darren's new toys to his room and Jody's to her room

“Catherine this is Tina, my Friend and Tina this is Catherine my helper and family. Without her this house would turn into a wreck!"

I said putting my hand on Catherine's shoulder and they both laughed.

“Hi” they both said in unison

“This way” I said leading Tina to my TV room.

“TV room I see, I love the geometric patterns on the walls, it goes well with the floors but loose the mat it changes the aesthetic, this wall in the middle with three televisions on each side is just you bragging” She said and I laughed uncontrollably.

“You seem knowledgeable about design” I interrogated.

“Studied it but I dropped out to do marketing”. She touched the material feeling the of one I had laid on the couch and she finally sat down.

“Should I bring something for yal to eat?" Catherine asked

“Can we please have chicken nachos and Oreos. Oh, and make for the kids too, just not too chilli. Can you please bring me ice cold water and a bottle of white wine” I finished looking at Tina for her approval?

“Can you get me coke” she asked.

We sat for hours talking about random stuff not worrying about what time it was. “So, are you lesbian?” I heard myself say, I was as surprise as she was.

“No!” she exclaimed.

I was gasped... I froze. I know it felt like I was being rejected all over again.

She started laughing uncontrollably after a few seconds she stooped.

“Yes silly... I'm just feminine, I caught your heart it almost fell out of your body” she said laughing.

“Of course, not” I lied.

We finished Nachos and the bottle of white wine.

“So, can I have your numbers Tina? So, we can have more play dates for the boys” she knew I wasn’t thinking about the boys but about us, what could result from this friendship we just formed.

“Here, keep them safe and use them” she insisted moving closer to my side of the couch. We were silent for a minute I looked down and as I looked up, we made eye contact. I was consumed by her hazel eyes. She is so beautiful and confident I think I'm falling for this woman.

“You’re very beautiful Tina” I said putting my hands on her thigh. I wanted to remove it but it felt natural and okay.

I looked at her eyes and we both closed them, I could feel her breathe and slowly our lips touched.

“Mom! the boys won't let me use the playroom." Jody said jumping on me, Splitting me and Tina apart.

“Always, Always!” I said looking at Tina who licked her lips.

“Jody, you shouldn’t disturb me when I have visitors go play in the living room, you must clean up when you're done!”

“but”

“No buts Jody!” I said putting her down and she sulked walking out of the room

“what was that young lady?” I asked hearing a slight murmur. “Nothing mom” she said looking at me with her puppy eyes.

“So where were we” I said as Tina laughed.

“Crap look at the time, I have to leave” she said getting up. I wanted to touch her hands and feel her skin. I wanted to know if it was okay to let her bra loose and later her pants. I wanted to lock the door and have her do as she pleases with my body.

“Thanks for coming, it was lovely meting you” I said sounding disappointed, she could hear it.

“I’m sure we can meet sometime and have a longer session” “Ty! Tyrone” she said peaking in the playroom.

Damn but she is FINEEEE!!

Tyrone didn’t want to leave but we promised they would have another play date and he surrendered. Darren and I walked them out. “Thank you again” I said and I leaned over to hug Tina. I held her waist and she wrapped her hands around my waist, that lasted for a few seconds and before I enjoyed it, it was over. I smiled nonetheless and we both watched Darren and Ty do their signature handshake. We watched them drive off and between me and Darren I’m pretty sure I was feeling the saddest.

“Boy get your ass in bed. its past your bedtime” I said when I checked up on him right before I slept.

“Mom one last game!” he pleaded.

“Fine! one last game” I said.

I go to Jody's room and she was tucked in by Catherine. I kissed her forehead and her eyes opened.

“I love you mommy" she said trying not to wake up.

“Love you more my angel, Good night” I said kissing her forehead again and I Walked out of the door switching off the light. When it was my turn to sleep Tina was prancing on my mind very confidently that is.
