Dawn and Cathy looked at each other and started to laugh. "She thinks you're my master," said Dawn. "Do you mean you're free?" asked Emily. "As a bird," Dawn replied. "We are just great friends and equal partners," said Cathy. "Partners?" Emily asked. "May I ask what your business is?" Cathy thought for a second. "Well, gold, I guess you could say." "Yeah," interjected Dawn, "and we're aimin' to find us some." Emily relaxed after this, and they chatted most of the way to Sacramento.
