Moon Vampire and the Fire Within

Chapter 6. Damien Pov

"LUCIEN...LUCIEN!" I yelled, running into our room.

"Damien, put her on the bed she might need more blood." Lucien said to me

"She is out. How can I get her to drink any if she won't wake up?" I asked him

"We will have to do a transfusion, or you will have to mark her to at least wake her up. It's up to you, but you will need to make your decision soon." He said to me.

I still had her in my arms, and the sparks I was feeling were so strong. I couldn't believe she couldn't feel them with how strong they were. Of course, I could never bring myself to touch her when she was awake, and I was too afraid to get rejected by her cause she is my second chance. Why her, though? She is the dark princess, and I'm just a dragon warrior. I don't belong in her world, I'm nothing but a warrior.

"Damien, I need a decision." Lucien said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Damien........."

I looked down at the angel in my arms, who just whispered my name, and I leaned down and exposed my neck to her. She bit down on me, and the moment she did, I saw stars and moaned it felt so good.

"Sapph... Sapphire...." I moaned out.

"I'm gonna give you two some privacy. Call me if you need me."

I barely heard him as he walked out of the room. She was still latched onto my neck and still sucking my blood, and my little dragon was wanting out, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything but let her have me as long as she was alive. I would be OK no matter how much blood she took from me. She pulled away from me and licked the wound closed.

"Damien... I'm sorry I couldn't help myself."

Something came over me, and I tilted her head up to look at me. Then her eyes got wide, and I knew she felt them the sparks that said we are soulmates.

"Mate.." I whispered to her

"Mate.." she said back to me

We just looked at each other, realizing what this all meant. It looked as if she was gonna cry, but she buried her head into my neck and breathed in and out. Did this mean she wasn't gonna reject me. She was breathing deeply now, and I could tell she was asleep. How was I gonna explain this to her father, and what was her mother thinking when they paired her with me. I don't belong in this world. The Dark Princess is my mate, but I can't change it now. I pulled her up to the pillows and laid her head down on one of them. Good thing this bed had curtains, I pulled them all closed and just sat there for a moment. Vincent's poison really did hurt her a lot more than she was letting on. I could feel the pain even though we hadn't marked each other, yet I could still feel her pain. That's how strong our bond is before we mark each other. I need answers to why they would pair me with her, but I guess I. gonna find out when we go to the kingdom in a few days. Sapphire can't travel like this. Just then, Lucien walked back in.

"How is she? Is she doing better?" He asked me.

"Yeah, she is sleeping now, I know she can't travel like this, and she was just summoned by her father. Is there a chance we can tell her father to hold off until she is better?" I asked him

"King Dova has never been one to keep waiting. Have you thought about completing the mating process?" he asked me

"Would that help her?" I asked him. It's not like I didn't want to. I just didn't want to rush her or even know if she wanted me.

"Well, it should help her heal faster and help you with your emotions since you are a dragon born she should help you become stronger." he said back to me.

"Well, does it matter that she is of a different species, she is a Moon Vampire, and I am a Dragon?"

"It shouldn't matter. You two are destined mates. It should make both of you stronger because of that fact alone." he said to me.

"I'll talk to her when she wakes up. I should probably rest with her. I will see you tomorrow night Lucien." I said and closed the curtains on the bed and went to snuggle with my princess.

As I fell into sleep, all I could think was how good her lavender and rose scent smelled to me. How could I live if she rejected me?
