“I’m hungry,” he declared after we’d both paused for breath. I gestured over my shoulder toward our favorite breakfast joint on the other side of the park. He nodded vigorously and we rose, groaning at our stiff, cold joints. “Let’s not sleep on a park bench again,” I suggested. “I can think of a better place to sleep next time.” I widened my eyes in mock shock, grinning. He blinked, the blood draining from his face. “No, I mean…” I laughed again, but gently, putting a hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay. We don’t have to rush into anything. Let’s just take things step by step.” He nodded, grabbing my face and kissing me again. “I like this,” he said. “I like kissing you, Theodore.” That resulted in more kissing, of course, until our stomachs protested anew. * * * * We ate breakfas
