Not ready

1028 Words
The worst wedding ever ended, and now Juniper was to say goodbye to her family. She was in tears, and all they could do was wipe it off. "Oh sweetie, I'll miss you a lot" Cathy hugged her daughter tightly and the girl cried. Albert too hugged his daughter. He was going to miss her, his only child. The Reyes family came forward to them. "My, my. My grand daughter-in-law is the most beautiful" grandma Reyes said. Juniper wiped her tears and greeted the old grandma politely. Her voice was a little hoarse. "When I was your age, I didn't cry like this when I was going to my husband's place" grandma Reyes blurted. And Juniper wanted to scream the words 'THIS IS A DIFFERENT CASE'. "You don't expect her to be like you" old grandpa spoke "Come child" he spoke to Juniper, and hesitantly she went to him. "It's okay to miss your parents. Don't worry, we'll make you forget them" he said and the others chuckled lightly. "If anything happens to my daughter, I'll hold you responsible, Edward" Albert said to his friend, Zayn's father. "It's not me you should tell that to. Tell it to her husband" Edward said, and looked at Zayn, who stood there like whatever scene happening in front of him is the most boring show. And what's with this crybaby?! "C'mon Zayn. You should vow your wife's safety and happiness to her father" he said. "I'll do my best" Zayn said, and they smiled in satisfaction. "It's late already" grandpa spoke "We should let the newlyweds get home in time and spend the night together". Just those words made Juniper had the urge to puke. She felt so dizzy. "Yes, yes. You're supposed to be home when the night is still young, for further exercises." Grandma butted in, and Juniper's face flushed red. She wasn't blushing, she was fuming. "Where's snow, mum?" Juniper asked, and Cathy immediately ordered the maid to bring it. Everyone was stunned and shocked when they saw that the pet Juniper was talking about was actually a Lynx. How did she tame it? Zayn too was surprised, but he immediately moved his eyes away. The husband and wife duo got into the black limousine afterwards. They sat at different locations, not sparing each other a glance. The car was stuffy, and eerie due to some faces. The cold face of Zayn, and the fierce one of Snow. All Juniper did was look at the tinted windows, while brushing Snow's fur with her fingers. From time to time, a long sigh would escape her lips. After a drive which seemed like forever, they finally arrived at the mansion. She didn't even have the time to gape. She just walked in as the butler directed her. And the other servants brought her things inside. They weren't even upstairs yet, when the Reyes arrived. "Dad?" Zayn was stunned. He didn't expect them to follow him here. "What are you..." "We are here to pass the night. The journey home is quite far" grandpa spoke. "And to make sure you both spend the night in the same room" grandma added. Zayn looked at his father and he just shrugged, he could only sigh. Juniper on the other hand had her mouth open. She was going to sleep in the same room with him? Holy sh*t! Everyone went upstairs to their various rooms. The couple's room was decorated with rose petals, from the floor to the king-sized bed. And candles lit the room. Are they going to sleep on those? Damn! What is this?! Zayn was the first to go shower, leaving Juniper in the dim room. He hasn't even spoken a word to her. Looks like she'll be the one to start a conversation then. "Can you see this, snow?" She said to it and it growled. "I think I'm going to die". Snow purred, and then cornered herself at one spot. She yawned, and then off to la-la land. Juniper could only twitch her lips. The husband and wife duo took a shower, and now they're just standing in the room, wordless. No one spoke a word, no one looked at the other. Juniper was finally tired after checking a few messages on her phone, she turned to Zayn. "Mr. Husband" she called in a little timid voice, and his cold eyes turned to her. "Uhm.... About the marriage consummation.... I am not ready" she said, as her eyes moved from the floor to him. As a matter of fact, she would never be ready. "I wouldn't even want to touch you" he spoke through clenched teeth, and her lips twitched. Who does he think he is? "And... I hope after tonight we won't get to share a room. You should leave... tomorrow" "I should leave?" A deadly chuckle escaped his lips "This is my room. You're the one who should leave." his voice was so cold and stern, she gulped. "Okay, I'll leave" she lowered her eyes. "Also, you should mind your business in this house. We should forever be strangers, cultivating no feelings. We won't interfere in each other's life, or want to know more about each other. You shouldn't disturb me, wife" he stood and walked to the bed, and then laid on it. Sighing in relief, Juniper too laid on the bed, at the extreme edge. Gosh! How is she supposed to sleep tonight? She was unknowingly holding her breath, and biting her lips. "If you're willing to fall off the bed, then be my guest." His voice came "I wouldn't be so nice to pick you up" Hearing him say that, she moved to the middle, and relaxed her muscles. But really, how is she supposed to sleep? What about her usual night stories? Her mind drifted. This damn marriage....which her loving father thought would put an end to the things she loves, it can't stop her at all. Besides, this man here doesn't want anything to do with her. She can really do whatever she wants without him asking. Her lips stretched into a smile, and then she closed her eyes and slept off.
