Spicy breakfast

Zayn leaned forward to his wife who knelt in front of him, his elbows resting on his thighs. "I. can't. love. you. kitty" he said "You don't have what it takes to make me fall for you. You don't have what it takes to replace her. You're just so.... frail-looking. And I hate it" the side of his lips curled up into a devilishly satisfying smile, seeing the look in her eyes. He could tell she was hurt by his words. Making him smile more. She'd definitely give up now, knowing she's not he's type. However.... "Give me a month, husband" she said "You would fall in love with me. Because.... I'm irresistible. If it doesn't work out then.... I won't trouble you anymore." she bit her lips, staring at him with eyes filled determination and anticipation. "Are you desperate?" He couldn't help but wonder, and she was quick to reply with the words "No" "I'm just a wife who wants her husband's love" she said, blinking her eyes. An idea struck him. How far can this frail girl go? "Okay...." her eyes began to glisten, as she stared, unknowingly holding her breath as she waited for his next words. "Let's give it a try, wife. But... The first week of the month.... I'll show you the real me. If you survive.... we'd start what you asked for the following weeks. I'd be the husband that would love you....." "Really?" Her eyes fluttered, her heart brewing happiness. "Of course, kitty" he flashed a devilish smile, and she was smiling brightly. "Thank you, husband" she was so excited about this. About him acting like a real husband. She can't wait. She can't wait for that time to come when he would truly love her. "So wife, how about making your husband breakfast tomorrow?" "I would do that gladly" she beamed. "What kind of food do you like, dear husband?" she asked him, and a sigh left his lips. "Find out yourself" he said, and her cheeks puffed. "Okay. Should I ask them to bring your dinner here?" Juniper asked. "Hmm" he leaned back on the chair, his arms behind his head. "Okay, husband" Juniper stood up, and left. There was this gorgeous, devilish smile that lingered on Zayn's face. He couldn't wait to see if this little kitty would survive. He barely think she would. He would make life a living hell for her in this week. Never again would she want his love. After a while, Juniper came back with his dinner which Lydia helped her in carrying and she placed it on the table. Juniper served him like a doting wife while on her knees. She didn't mind kneeling for her husband. Lydia and Grace saw how overly respectful she acted, and they couldn't help but smile. Their young miss is such a good woman. She even treated them like she was part of the family on their first day of service to her. Zayn ate to his heart content, and then found his way to bed. So many things were roaming his mind. So many wicked things. He was like a calm devil waiting for the moment to devour the prey already in his trap. How fun it would be! *.....*....*....*.....*.....* Juniper walked into the kitchen the next morning. She was so refreshed and eager to make food for her husband. The cooks and kitchen maids saw her and they bowed. "What are you doing here, young miss?" The chief cook asked. "I'm here to make breakfast for my husband. Please let me use the kitchen" Juniper replied. "No, young miss, you don't have to. We'll make breakfast for both of you" he said, with his eyes lowered. "No need. I want to do this, so just assist me, okay?" They sighed and then agreed reluctantly. Juniper was given an apron and she put it on. Walking closer to the gas stove. "Uhm... What kind of food does my husband like?" she asked. "Sometimes he prefers spicy foods, young miss" the cook replied. "Oh....spicy" her lips curled in a smile, because she also like spicy foods too. Some of them. Washing her hands, she began cooking while the others assisted her. When she finally finished, they helped her in serving. Zayn was just in time for breakfast made by his so called wife. Dressed in his black work suit, he walked majestically to the table, as the king he is. With a stoic face again, he sat down, and the maid close by immediately served the dish. "Wife, did you make this on your own?" Zayn asked, without sparing her a glance. "I did" she replied. Despite his fierce face, she still smiled. In anticipation, he picked his cutlery and began to eat. It wasn't like he was anticipating to feel the taste of her food, he was actually looking for a mistake. When the food touched his tongue and he chewed, his eyes blazed. Two reasons: it's spicy, too spicy. "Cough...." With his face turned to the other side and his arm over his mouth, Zayn coughed. The maid immediately gave him the water in the glass, and he gulped it down hastily. Quenching his burning tongue. "What the hell! Do you want to kill me?!" He fumed. "I... I'm sorry husband. I may have put too much...spice in it" she bit her lips and lowered her eyes. "I didn't mean to. I'm sorry" The servants around were like cats on hot bricks. They could feel it. The volcano about to erupt. A sigh escaped his lips, as he looked at her. She also stole glances from him, biting on her lower lip. "It's just too spicy, that I can't decipher the taste" surprisingly, his voice was calm. He didn't look angered at that moment. "I don't think anyone can eat this. But since my wife made it with her own hands, we can't just trash it, can we?" he looked at the servants as if asking for their opinion. "So wife, have a taste of your own food" Zayn smiled at her seemingly shocked expression. "Go on, wife" Juniper bit her lips as the maid dished out the food for her. She stared at it, hoping it's not as spicy as she's thinking. But she have to do this anyways. She have to. She picked up the spoon and fetched the soup into her mouth. It wasn't that spicy though. She began to eat, all the foods on the plate. It was hot, so hot. Everyone was expecting her to cough, but she didn't. Zayn stared at her with a devilish lethal grin, and she stared back. It was like a staring competition while she ate. Her eyes were red and welled with tears. The spiciness burning her whole being, but she kept calm. No one dared give her water, because of the devil who sat in front her.
