Chapter TWO

1037 Words
I'm walking through the quiet woods now under the dark sky. My cries are the only thing that accompanies me. I haven't even looked back since I left that white mansion. I just wanted to get far away from it as possible and never come back. At least I am alive. I thought I would die in the hands of that alpha werewolve, I thought I wouldn't see another day to live. I am Catherine, only eighteen years of age. I've lived with my father alone ever since an alpha werewolve killed my mother after just giving birth to me. Since that day, my father devoted his life into finding werewolves and hunting them down. He's a scientist, so he makes various gadgets that helps him to kill them. I've grown to hate them also because they destroyed my life. I could have lived a normal ordinary life if not for those monsters. My father fears that the werewolve that killed my mother is also after me. Because of that, I'm never allowed to leave the house except when I want to stroll nearby. We live an isolated life in a small wooden house close to the woods because we fear that living with other people would attract werewolves. Because of another attempt of my dad trying to protect me, I am homeschooled but the only thing I hate about it is that being homeschooled have caused me to become shy to talk to other people even my teachers. Since I never associate with others and I'm always at home, I live a very safe and boring life. Today is my first time I ever saw a werewolve with my eyes even though I know everything about them through my books. Werewolves and humans have never been in good terms. They kill us when they get the chance, and we attack them with false hope that we will win the fight. Since I have no phone and never watch the news, I won't be surprised if there are only few humans that are still alive and the werewolves have eaten all the rest. I reach our small wooden house and see my father running down the steps. He has a worried look plastered on his face as he reaches me. "Catherine, are you okay?" He scans my body for any bruises and relaxes his face when he doesn't find any. "I told you never to go into those woods. it is not safe" He says to me. "Dad I'm fine" I assure him and starts to go inside. "What if one of those b*****d had seen you. God knows what they would have done to you Cat" My father says and my mind drifts back to when I was in that s*x dungeon being tortured by the alpha werewolve. I shake the thought off my mind and continue walking inside the house. I choose not to tell my father what really happened because I don't want him to worry, neither do I want him to go into the woods and try to kill the werewolve. Besides, nothing like this have ever happened before and I'm sure the werewolves are yet to discover our small home. If we live quietly, I'm sure they'll never find us. "Catherine" My dad calls my name from behind when I reach the kitchen. I turn around to face him. His green eyes look sad as I stare back at them. He's the person I inherited most of my physical features from. I have eyes as green as his, and deep dimples that appear when I smile. My lips are small and pink which I suspect I got from my mother alongside my long straight black hair that flows down my back and stops on my waist. I'm not too tall, but I'm not short either. At least I can brag about my curves on my thin body that's for sure. sometimes I wonder if I look just like my mother did around my age. At least I wish I could see a picture of her but my father told me he lost all of them in our old house when I was still a toddler, that was, before we moved here. I'm glad I still have this man infront of me. I'm so glad. "you're all I have. I can't lose you too" He says as if he wants to cry. I walk up to him and hug him. I want to cry too just imagining the thought of losing him. My father have always been there for me. He's my only friend for that matter and I don't know what I'll do it something bad ever happens to him. "you won't lose me dad. I'm here. I'll always be here" I say softly trying to hold back my tears. ********* My eyes stare up at the ceiling in my dark room. I don't feel a hint of sleep in my eyes and I'm sure it is probably about 1am. I face my window beside me and stare at the woods outside. Now I wish my window wasn't facing these scary woods. I'll make sure never to walk too close to them like I did today. As I lay on my bed I can't help to imagine how my life would've been if werewolves never appeared on earth years ago. I would have been going to a public school and meet other human beings. I'll probably have tons of friends and even a best friend. My father would've been going to work regularly without the fear of leaving me alone. Maybe I would've even had other siblings if those b*****ds hadn't killed my mother. I know for sure that my life would've been very different. At least my only source of information would not be my lesson teachers. Even though they are very helpful to me, I sometimes wish that I can experience life through first person. That way I'll get to know if highschool is as dreadful as my teachers says it is, and if true love just exist in all the fictional novels I read. Either ways, it won't hurt to find out what's out there, beyond those scary woods.
