Chapter Two

1750 Words
The next day. . . It was noon when I woke up, so I grabbed my phone and called Lexi, our mutual best friend since she was the only one at the office during her lunch break. "Lexi? Hey, could you swing by a minute?" She worked for the FBI. "Sure," she replied. Soon enough, there was a knock at the door. There she was, Lexi Wilson, a light-skinned Portuguese slim, curvy, and incredibly beautiful 42-year-old woman who stood in front of us. "Lexi, hi!" "Hey, how are you girls?" she said ecstatically. As we sat down on the couch, my 2-year-old Pomeranian Pitbull mix, Ruby had come in and she jumped on her, licking her face. "Hey, Ruby!!" Then, looking at Arabella, barked at her, not recognizing her. Soon enough, she went to her cage to sleep, and we started talking. "So, Lexi, I wanted to talk to you about something," I started. "Someone was stalking Hadassah. But then, we found out that it was a guy from school," Arabella continued. "It was Bryce and," I paused. "He asked me out." "What?!" Lexi and Arabella said in unison as I nodded. Soon enough, there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and there he was wearing a navy-blue crew neck sweater and jeans with black men's boots. It was fall, so it was pretty chilly outside. I suddenly had that feeling. "H-Hi," I stuttered. "Is it 7 already?" I asked as I looked at the clock. "No, actually I couldn't wait." He handed me a rose with a ring inside the middle of the flower. "A promise ring?" Tears started to fill up in my eyes. "It's beautiful," I said as tears started to slither down my cheeks. I suddenly noticed that I was in my regular clothes, a red sweater, and jeans with my sneakers. "I'll be right back." "No way, you look gorgeous." Wow, he really made it too easy to fall for him. "Well, you don't look too bad yourself," I replied as I smiled like an i***t. "You ready?" he asked as he held out his hand for me to take. As we headed to his white Porsche 718 Boxster, I accidentally sprained my ankle. "Ow!" Instead of making me walk the whole way, Bryce carried me bridal style. "Thank you." "I couldn't let my beautiful girlfriend walk with a sprain," he said as he opened the door for me. Getting comfortable and putting my seatbelt on, he closed the door and came in through the driver's side. Putting the car in drive, he started driving. An hour later. . . "Where are we?" Without answering, he got out of the car and came to open the door for me. As soon as I got out of the car, my eyes were wide with intrigue. We had parked in front of a beautiful botanical garden. "I've always wanted to visit one. But why at night?" "Because this is where the magic happens," he whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. Instantly, the lights were turned on. Butterflies were flying all around us. Feeling sparks, he kissed me. Grabbing my waist with such intensity, I kissed him even harder, not wanting to let go. "I want you," he whispered seductively in my ear, making my knees weak. Seeing that he had an effect on me, he carried me back to the car and we sped to the nearest hotel, Grand Hyatt Hotel. Forget the date, we were going to get it on tonight. When we parked in front of the hotel, we went inside to the front desk and instantly got the key to our room since Bryce's father owned the hotel. "Is this your first time?" he asked. I nodded. "Well, then, good thing I got us the Presidential Suite." Entering the elevator, I was so nervous. Five minutes into the elevator ride, we were finally on the floor where the room was. We entered and, to my surprise, there were rose petals and candlelight everywhere. "What's this?" I asked in awe. "I figured it was your first time, so I called ahead and requested this room. The petals and candles are for romance." "Bryce. . ." I started. "Shhhh . . . no talking," he breathed as he kissed my neck, making me moan softly. As we tore our clothes off of each other, he noticed I had a scar on both my left leg and right arm. On my left leg, I had a scar starting from my hip down to my ankle from a car accident that I was in years ago. On my right wrist, I had a bite mark from a wolf. "Where'd you get these?" he asked concern and worry in his eyes. "Shhhh, no talking, remember?" I whispered back. Lifting me up, I naturally wrapped my legs around his torso. Leave it up to chance to have my virginity taken from a guy I've been crushing on since middle school, I thought as he softly and slowly laid me on the bed. Breathing him in like I've been waiting for him my entire life as he slowly and steadily held me down, he kissed every inch of my bruised body. Already bare, he hovered from above and kissed my lips, ravenous at first but then slowed down, matching my breathing pattern. __ 13 minutes later. . . Our bodies tangled within each other, he kissed my nose and then my forehead. "Wow," I panted. "That was amazing." Looking into his eyes, I whispered to him, "I wish we could stay like this forever." Hugging me tightly, I kissed him. "We should go," I said as I quickly got dressed. Staring at me with disbelief, I told him, "I'm sorry, but my sister must be worried sick about me." "Call her. Let her know that it's going great, and we'll stay here a couple more hours." As I blankly stared at him, he added, "Oh, come on. Please?" I looked over at his phone which had vibrated, letting him know that he got a text message. The text read, 'Hey, man, have you banged her yet? If you don't go through with it, we'll send the video to the whole school.' What video? "Bryce, are you just playing with my feelings?" Sick bastard, what were you thinking using me for a bet? I thought. "What are you talking about?" I lifted an eyebrow at him, not wanting to believe him. "I know you used me for a bet." "How? "Just a guess," I replied as I shrugged, not letting him know that I saw his phone with the text. "Fine, yes, but I—" I immediately cut him off. "What?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "You used me?!" In a huff, I left. Finally, in the lobby, I dialed Arabella's number. She answered instantly. Looks like she had her phone next to her the entire time in case things went south. "Can you come pick me up?" "What? Why? Aren't you having fun?" Not able to hold back my tears anymore, I broke down. "Are you OK? What's wrong?" "Bella, he used me!!" I sobbed, my tears, shielding my vision. "Why that son of a—" "Don't finish that sentence." Breathing slowly, I trusted in my gut that everything was going to be OK. "I trusted him, all right? Get mad at me." "I'm going over there to pick you up, OK? I'll be there in ten minutes." "OK, I'll see you here." I hung up and started waiting for Arabella in the lobby. I heard the elevator ping, meaning that someone was coming out of the elevator. I looked over and it was Bryce. "Hadassah, wait!!" he called after me. Not wanting to hear what he had to say, I started to walk away. He caught up to me and turned me around to look at him. "Get away from me!!" I yelled, pushing him away. "What the hell were you thinking using me?!" Tears were staining my face as I confronted him. People were starting to stare but I didn't care. "Using me for a bet? We had s*x and it was my first time. You didn't want to stay with me after we did it, did you?" Trying to open his mouth to defend himself, nothing came out. "That's what I thought." I sighed silently. "Goodbye, Bryce. Have a nice life." As I walked outside, my phone buzzed, letting me know that Arabella was here to pick me up. There she was, my sunshine and rainbows, my shoulder to cry on. "What were you thinking?" she asked as soon as I got into the car. "You could have gotten pregnant or worse." "I don't need this right now, all right?" I replied coldly. "I just want to forget this ever happened." "I'm sorry, you're right," she answered as she started driving. The car ride was silent. My eyes, red and misty from crying, were instantaneously heavy. I closed my eyes, but he came to my mind. My eyes immediately flashed open. "I need to distract myself." "How?" "Talk to me about something. Anything." "What's your favorite novel?" "Really? That's the best question you came up with?" When I looked out the window, we were finally home. "Oh, finally!!" We went inside and troubled as I felt, I decided to take a shower. "I'm going to take a shower," I told her. Thanks to that jerk, I'll never be able to feel clean again, let alone confident. Suddenly, my phone buzzed. Speak of the devil. Instead of letting the phone ring, I immediately sent the caller to voicemail, and I hopped into the shower. Letting the water, soothe my every worry, I didn't hear the door open. "Arabella?" No answer. Shutting off the water, I grabbed a towel to dry myself off and decided to wear a sleep tee set, a red shirt with its matching pajama pants. "Arabella?" No answer. "Arabella?" I called again. At that moment, someone had knocked on the front door and, since Arabella was either asleep or in our room, I went to go answer it. "Who is it?" I asked without opening the door. "It's Bryce." Ugh, what the f**k is he doing here? "What do you want, Bryce?" "To talk to you." "Fine!" I opened the door and there he was, the smug ugly hearted guy who I slept with.
