Inspection: Any Injuries?

"Spit it out!" His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an irresistible command. Without his consent, this woman had dared to make her own decision, swallowing the morning-after pill without a moment's hesitation! Yvonne gave him a furtive glance, her expression clearly saying: I've already swallowed it, how can I spit it out? "If you can't spit it out, then we'll have your stomach pumped." When these words came out of Alexander's mouth, Yvonne was horrified, suddenly realizing the gravity of the situation. Yvonne tried to walk away. "I don't want my stomach pumped." Alexander's large hand, slightly calloused, gripped her wrist. His eyes narrowed menacingly. "Would you prefer to have your stomach pumped or see Lambert Industries go bankrupt?" He gave her two options to choose from, but neither was to her liking. Yvonne's fair wrist turned red under his grip. The pain made her furrow her brow as she struggled unsuccessfully to break free, cursing, "Damn it! Do you know how awful stomach pumping is?" Was he insane? She had decided to take the morning-after pill and wouldn't spit it out. Her grandfather wanted her to be happy; she couldn't let her life fall into ruin. The struggling "rabbit" had considerable strength, and Alexander had to exert great effort to restrain both her flailing hands. Yvonne temporarily gave up resisting because the more she moved, the tighter he gripped her wrists, causing her more pain. "Open your mouth," Alexander stared at her lips. "I really have swallowed it already, look." She opened her mouth wide, letting him inspect. Alexander put his hand in her mouth. She didn't understand why, but as his fingers probed her tongue, it made her feel nauseous. The sensation was utterly unpleasant! She couldn't speak, and she wanted to bite his fingers, but his hand was painfully stretching her mouth open. She couldn't even close her teeth together to bite. With her hands still firmly restrained by his large palm, only her legs were left to fight back. Without thinking, she tried to stamp on his feet randomly, but never managed to make contact. Frustrated, she aimed a kick at his lower body. This finally made him let go of her. She retched a few times, her face flushed red, with moisture in her eyes. She looked at him innocently, "I didn't mean to, it was purely self-defense." His face had turned dark, his gaze making chills run down her spine. She kindly suggested, "Do you want to see a doctor? You could have them check if you're... injured." This woman really had some nerve! Alexander grabbed the back of Yvonne's clothes and started walking with long strides. She had to quicken her pace to keep up with him, her legs being much shorter. What did he want now? Yvonne frowned and asked, "Where are we going?" "Home," he replied tersely, then after a pause added, "You can check me yourself." Yvonne froze... A lion is still a lion. Just because it looks docile when resting doesn't mean it's harmless. With her wild nature, she had provoked his unpredictable temper, and she would be the one to suffer for it. Alexander Thornton had clearly said it would be just one night, but now he was going back on his word. His thoughts were too difficult to fathom. Now that the options had changed, between having her stomach pumped and being bedded, she chose the latter. If only she hadn't been so kind as to remind him to check his functionality. This tossing about was almost breaking her bones. Even though she had practiced yoga and was flexible, she couldn't withstand his 180-degree maneuvering. Weak and powerless, she lay on top of him, thinking to herself that she had just taken the morning-after pill, so she shouldn't get pregnant. Alexander's deep, magnetic voice came from above her head, "You can go to work tomorrow." Yvonne's eyes lit up, her lips curling into a smile, hardly believing it. "Really?" Servicing the great Alexander Thornton did have its benefits. At least her range of activities wouldn't be limited to this villa anymore. She had been restricted since college, and after graduation, she had no freedom at all. "Mm-hmm." "That's wonderful! Grandfather will be so happy when he finds out. If I don't start working at Lambert Corp soon, it will change hands." Yvonne lay on top of him, raising her face to meet his downcast phoenix eyes. Her grandfather's health had been poor for three years now, and she knew it was half from grief and half from anger. Three years ago, her mother died in a car accident. Her father, who had married into the family, suddenly appeared with an old flame and a daughter who was two years older than her. Her father brazenly brought the mother and daughter into their home. Her father's conscience must have been eaten by dogs. As her mother's death made the spouse the primary heir, her father had obtained 30% of Lambert Corp's shares and had delusions of completely changing the company. Her elderly grandfather couldn't accept these things. Yvonne had tried to save Lambert Corp single-handedly, resulting in her selling herself to Alexander Thornton. Alexander raised an eyebrow, glancing at her as he slowly parted his thin lips, "You're going to TE." Yvonne was furious. Damn it, she had gotten excited for nothing! "You won't invest in Lambert Corp, and you're making me go to your company!" She raised her eyebrows, her face full of indignation. Alexander flipped her over, pinning her beneath him. His finger pinched her nose. "You belong to me now. How could you possibly go back to work at Lambert Corp?" She understood now. The evil capitalist was just squeezing out her last bit of surplus value. She wasn't in the mood, but he didn't care about her feelings, always forcing her to do things she didn't want to do. "Lambert Corp is mine. Since I'm yours, why don't you take back Lambert Corp for me?" She would be indirect about it, her finger drawing circles on his chest as she looked at him with seductive eyes. Her little tricks were all written on her face. Only when she needed something from him would she act like this. Alexander quite enjoyed letting her hand wander restlessly. His voice took on a tinge of desire. "Lambert Corp is a mess right now. How can you be so foolish?" Damn! If he wasn't going to help, he should just say so, not call her foolish! "This princess is on strike!" Yvonne said coldly, pushing away the imposing body that was pressing down on her, making it difficult to breathe. Alexander repositioned Yvonne, murmuring, "Let's hope the child doesn't inherit your intelligence." Then he proceeded to mount her again. Being insulted like this, and still wanting her to bear children? How could that be possible? "Then go find another woman. Don't touch me!" "Don't make me lose my patience." These words made her compliant. A clever woman should know when to advance and retreat. Even if she didn't understand that, she at least understood what it meant to prioritize the bigger picture. Reflecting on it, she couldn't be so willful. At least if she made Alexander happy, she could negotiate terms. She had had this personality for over twenty years, but facing Alexander, she felt that her personality was too awful. Wanting to change wasn't something that could happen overnight, but she would try her best to restrain herself." Yvonne Lambert was surprised that Alexander Thornton had assigned her to the finance department. What shocked her even more was that she was given access to the most confidential account books. She realized that TE's current cash flow was also very tight, not that he was refusing to help in her time of need. During lunchtime, someone approached from outside. Robert Wilson, her department manager, greeted the person very politely. "Sophie?" Yvonne looked up for a while, somewhat puzzled. This was her college roommate, with whom she had been quite close. Sophie Parker smiled with narrowed eyes, "Even though you've cut your long hair into a mushroom cut, I still recognized you at a glance. I haven't changed at all, yet you stared at me for so long. We've only been apart for a year." "You work here too?" Yvonne smiled. She used to have long black hair, but now sported a mushroom cut. The biggest advantage of this hairstyle was that it was easy to maintain. Sophie stood outside the door, not intending to come in. She raised her eyebrows, "Let's go eat together and talk over lunch." Yvonne nodded. Sophie smiled gently, "A week ago, when you just joined our company, I already knew. But I've been quite busy with work lately, so I haven't had time to come find you." Since joining the company, Yvonne hadn't seen Alexander for a week. Apparently, he had gone abroad. Being busy was good; not being busy would mean the company was close to bankruptcy. "Which department are you in?" Just as Yvonne asked this question, Lily Fisher from her department came over and asked, "Yvonne, you've just joined our company and you already know the boss's secretary Sophie? That's fast!" Her tone was surprised, but more envious, envious that Yvonne had found a backer. "We were college classmates," Yvonne said truthfully. Sophie gave Lily a cold glance, with the air of a stern superior, "If you're not eating, don't waste other people's lunchtime. Work hours are about to start." After Lily left, Sophie's face returned to its friendly expression. Noticing Yvonne's surprised look, she explained, "People in the company all want to curry favor with me, thinking I have something going on with the boss. Actually, they don't know the boss is already married. Even I haven't met the boss's wife. I don't know who's so lucky." Hearing Sophie's words, it was clear she didn't know that Yvonne was Mrs. Thornton. Yvonne had asked Alexander to keep their marriage a secret, as she always felt they wouldn't be together for a lifetime. Seeing Yvonne lost in thought, Sophie teased playfully, "I saw on your resume that you're married. When did you get married? Why didn't you tell us? Remember when you said if you married Eric Foster, you'd announce it to the world and send us all invitations, even reimbursing our travel expenses?" Yvonne scratched her short hair. That was all years ago, and things had changed completely. After hesitating for a long while, she slowly opened her lips, "I got married three years ago..." Before she could finish, Sophie interrupted her, extremely excited, "So you had a flash marriage with Eric not long after you started dating? Oh my god! Why didn't you tell me then? I remember you studied jewelry design and said you'd inherit the family business. How come you're working at TE now?" Sophie had too many questions, and Yvonne didn't know where to start explaining. "Let's arrange to meet up with Kitty sometime. I'll tell you then," she said and went back to eating her meal. Sophie had a strong sense of time, so she didn't press further.
